As long as Morrigan and Sandal resurface, I will be satisfied. And Cassandra.

Cassandra, Leliana and Vivienne probably won't show up anymore since they can become the Divine. At best they will have small cameos or be mentioned by others. The same goes for Hawke, I guess. since he\she can die in the game.
We're going north. I hope that marks the end of this particular arc of characters for good. One or two cameos where it makes sense, but I'd rather it be kept to a minimum. Most of them I'd be satisfied with where we left them.
Leliana for instance is probably my all-time favourite character in the series, but I really feel it's about time they give her a rest. After all her gushy talk of rejoining my Warden and staying with her for good, even me, a huge fan of hers, would be rolling my eyes at another appearance. Seriously, stahp.
Support the creator of this... thing!!!

Some of the characters mentioned are already heavily embedded in the lore and the general story arc of the franchise. Don't worry, they'll come back. They kinda have to... As for the others, I dunno. The danger with bringing back previous characters is the added complexity of the story. So far, they have been able to play around it (such as who is your warden ally in Inquisition (Strout/Alistair/Loghain)) but the more they do things like this, the more complicated it will become for them to create a story that can include everyone's choices in previous games. Cameos have to make sense. So my vote is : none.
inquisition had many returning chars some of them had cameo roles others had bigger roles. what chars you want to see in future installments (DLC, expension, dragon age 4, etc...). no need to limit yourselves to chars from games, chars from books, comics and other dragon age stuff.
sandal - that just pissed me off that he didn't spear in inquisition, it's not a dragon age game without the happy dwarf saying "enchantment?"
rhys and evengeline - i liked them both in the books and will be nice to see them in game and i also hope they will reunite with cole.
merrill - she is just so sweet and wee!
I'd really enjoy these four! Sandal's a big (little!) mystery, and I'd love to find out his secrets. Plus he's adorable.
I think a reunion between Rhys/Evangeline and Cole would be wonderful closure for all three characters, even if it was just in the form of a letter sent from them to Cole that we could read.
If the Eluvians become a big part of a future dlc, Merrill should definitely be there! She and Morrigan would make a fascinating pair with different points of view and experiences. Plus the fact that Merrill's eluvian had the Blight definitely warrants notice imo. I've read all sorts of theories (like maybe her eluvian is connected to the Black City). She could easily become involved, especially since Hawke is already a contact.
Anders-Want to see his fate if Hawk doesn't wack him.
Isabela-She's always up to something fun.
Merrill-She's a blood mage elf and she could have an Eluvian. She's bound for trouble.
Sandal-Enchantment?

i'm not talking about working around to bring a char back nor making a story that includes everyone (in fact that will be imposible) but if an oprutunity arrives (such as the example you gave) that allow to bring back a certain char why not do it? let's say we in tevinter and we meet a magister who hired the services of a certain savant dwarf who can make runes? oh look a sandal cameo that make sense! ![]()
Cole and Iron Bull would be great characters to bring back as they could have vastly different personalities depending on what happened in Inquisition. Maybe Bull gets hardcore "re-educated" into a mindless drone if you killed the Chargers or Cole becomes much more normal if you made him human.
definitely:
Varric- maybe even with a romance?
(yes pleeeeease!)
Anders- what happened to him after that "accident"? ^^
Alistair- I'm still waiting for him to show up in a dress!
"(...)if the king ever asks me to put on a dress and dance the Remigold(...)"

I personally would like to see the ending of my DOA character. I feel it only appropriate that some of the existing old team members die along side her/him. Characters like Oghrem, Sigrum, Vallana, Nathanial, Lilianna (I didn't choose her for divine), and Zevren. I feel that this would help free up story line issues. I would like to focus more on the DA2 and Inquisition characters we have a lot of new faces, and it is not fair for the players that have just started playing these games to dwell in the past. This is the third game and many of us thought we would have found out by now.

Id like Kihm as a companion
well I have to be honest with you, I did not expect that one xD
and evenstar, maybe type spoiler alert before you give spoilers, just a thought ![]()

I'm sorry if my statement was confusing. I'm not voting that NONE of the characters should come back. I'm saying none of the characters get a vote up from me as far as I'm concerned ![]()
Sandal is one of the characters that will have to come back eventually because of... reasons.
Have no fear. But yeah, companion wise, it could be complicated to bring back particular characters specifically. Alistair and Anders are good examples since their fates are not canon. Hence why I cannot vote for them. Has to be more general like "we're bringing back whoever was your romanced character or whoever you pissed off most in your previous game... unless they died. If they did, you'll have stunt double #3 instead."
This is really hard for me because I love so many of them ... But here it goes:
DAO
-Alistair
-Morrigan
-Leliana
Seriously these three should be in every game in some fashion. Even when they're old and wizened!
DA2
-Isabela
-Varric
DAI
-Solas!!
-Sera
-Iron Bull
-Cole
And of course Mythal/Flemeth! It will be interesting to see what happens to Morrigan now that she essentially has the essence of Mythal (or at least that's what I assume from the post-credits scene).
SPOILERS (highlight to see) Morrigan doesn't have Mythal's essence. Solas does. Morrigan, if she drank from the well, is bound to the will of Mythal. If she didn't, then the Inquisitor is bound to her (well, Solas now...)
I wanna see how romanced Hawke and Anders are doing (if, you know, that thing didn't happen)
Alistair (King or no king)
Dorian
Iron Bull
ISABELA
MERRILL
