I don't really give a fig about the weapons or the features or the size of the world, I just wonder if Witcher is going to have spine. I feel like they established this level of grimdarkness in W1 and 2 and aren't really going to surpass that necessarily, so it'll just be a really bloated version of the same thing.

I'm not familiar with the books though so I don't know what's in store overall. I just hope there's lots of rampant assassinations, fierce and bloody contests over a single piece of dirt, lots of sex, etc.

I'm exhausted by people following the form and not the substance of those themes (HI BIOWARE). Ok so maybe DA:I was a little less so than DA:2 but still...

I definitely recommend giving the second game a try before getting the third, but I'm sure W3 will be a good experience in itself as well. :) I also really enjoyed the first game, but it's only on PC and I can see how it's not for everyone. People say you don't need to play the first game to know the story of the second, and while that's true I do think it contributes to knowing Geralt's character and situation. His friends are introduced in W1, and your arrival in a certain small town in W2 is a lot more amusing if you are familiar with those characters.

For me, the Witcher series is a refreshing break from Bioware games, so I enjoy the two games that are out already, and plan to play the third as well.

So far, no over-reaching internet rage about The Witcher.

So far, no embellished either/or comparisons to Dragon Age.

I don't care about them showing it.

It's actually more the fanbase I find to be acting silly when they make claims about how "mature" The Witcher 2. I don't really consider the first 5 minutes of the game going "hey look, boobs!" to be terribly mature.

I am equally tired of people who whine that Witcher games are only about that. There is more to a Witcher game than just "sex cards and boobs!" just as there is more to a Bioware game than just "gay romances!". And the maturity factor isn't solely measured by those.
