Sup,

 

Over two fresh restarts over the last couple of days I have not been able to pick up the quest "Ballad of Lord Woolsley" the quest giver "One-Eyed Jimmy" in Redcliffe village is there but has no exclamation point over his head and doesn't talk to me.

 

In the second restart I made sure not to go anywhere near where Lord Woolsley spawns to make 100% sure he wasn't attacked by mistake and still unfortunately the quest won't trigger.

 

Has anyone else had this problem? Is is a bug or could I have potentially done something wrong?

 

Is there a minimum level requirement?

 

It's not a big deal but mildly annoying I can't get it done.

As far as I know, there are no requirements for getting that quest, so a bug seems likely. For me, lord Woolsey won't spawn until I have the quest, he will continue to respawn afterwards, though.

I'm not sure it's a bug, I had a friend start again and try.. and he didn't give the quest either.

 

The only similarity is we're both playing on PC and both unmodded, I've validated my files and all the basic stuff.

 

It's a bit strange, seems new, recently made characters don't get the quest.. or maybe only some don't but it's acting odd regardless.

 

Maybe PC specific? Really no idea.

Well, the quest is active now, I just went along doing quests in The Hinterlands, picked up a few companions and just done general stuff and all of a sudden it was available when I was passing through Redcliffe Village for shopping.

 

Strange, guess there's some kind of trigger for it, not too sure what though.

The quest didn't initiate for some reason, Viruk.

In my game Lord Woolsley is running around in the hills at Lake Luthias even before I trigger the quest. If you kill him he turns into a rage demon. And when you kill the rage demon he leaves a spirit essence. Very handy because he will respawn every time you leave and return to the map.
