Just noticed the button floating in mid-air, no marker on the map and when you click it there are weapons and upgrades for sale?????

Yeah, well bit of a mix up there.

The visible physical store will appear if you take Josephine's perk "The Short List" (which, by the way, I recommend taking).

The button for it that allows for trading as per your picture appears after completing some operation or another (something to do with Bonny Sims, if I'm not mistaken.

So, it seems someone goofed. Presumably, both the physical shop and the access button to the shop were meant to appear simultaneously, but they got split between a perk and a war table operation somehow.

Edit: @Kendar, this is at Skyhold, correct?

Correct at Skyhold.

That makes sense as Bonny gave me some long speech about expansion and I wondered why there was no outcome. Will do the Short Lists Perk next and see if it becomes visible!!!

It not the short list perk. You get Bonnie if you talk to her and accept her offer to join, when you visit Val Royeaux the first time. You get another merchant by doing the "Power for Price" war table mission. I've always gotten Bonnie without the Short List -perk. That perk only makes rare items available.

Don't panic - This is merely a Rift-way Trading Company outlet. We bypass the middleman to bring these goods Direct-From-The-Fade-To-You!

Chard, you've misunderstood my post and your information is inaccurate:

Firstly, you have Bonny Sims confused with Belle. Belle is the agent you can acquire in Val Royeaux ("Barter by Belle"). She has nothing to do with Bonny. Bonny will automatically appear at Skyhold for all players.

Secondly, yes "The Short List" is the perk that makes rare items available. But in addition to that, it has the cosmetic side effect of making what looks to be a shop appear in Skyhold next to the guy who sells influence.

But it can't be interacted with. It's just the graphic of a shop. Presumably, it was intended to be attached to the "invisible" shop the OP refers to.

Now, when you have both the Short List perk AND you've completed the operation for the invisible shop, you end up with a functional, visible shop. Wonky, but there you go.

Oh, dammit. I know I should've slept more last night. Now I can't even see straight. :pinched: Sorry about that. :)

Thanks. It seems that a couple of hours just doesn't cut it. Anyways, about that empty shop... would been nice if it actually had a merchant. I wonder if they're going to add one later on (though highly doubt it due to coming dlc) and not leave it as is. Or maybe they were going to but ended up removing it, like some many other things.

Hard to guess. It's also possible the merchant was accidentally omitted. That shop is already pretty screwed up as it is.

Mind you, the shop in Crestwood village doesn't have a merchant either (or a guard dog that makes change).

Lolwut? There's a black lady with short hair that mans the Crestwood shop.

There is a lady with short hair who mans the shop at the keep in Crestwood, yes.

But, I wasn’t referring to the keep. I said the village. The store there has no one attending it.

In my game the black lady is in the village shop. At keep shop there's a white lady, wearing a dress with a fur collar. Isn't this the same for everyone?

Well... that's certainly strange. In four playthroughs of the game, I've never had a shopkeeper turn up for me in the village. The store is perfectly accessible but there's never been anyone there. Maybe it's a platform issue? I play on xbox 360.

Edit: I'm at the store in Crestwood village right now. Nobody here. Just a sign on the store that reads: "Store" which is wonderfully imaginative.

I had this shop appear during my last PT. But I was never able to interact with it, even though I did all operations avaiable via War Table.

So it's either its "buginess" vary or there is another requirement to make it work.

I play on PC and the shopkeeper in Crestwood village always shows up after main mission there.

Well now I'm wondering how many other NPCs aren't appearing in my game. Hopefully another xbox360er will turn up so we can compare notes.

Not sure what happened there. The war table operation that makes the the interaction possible is called "Opening the Roads"

Thanks for posting the pic, Chard. I don't know. Maybe performance considerations on old gen consoles prompted them to cut nonessential NPCs?

Could be. But that could also mean a possibility of even more cut content and that doesn't sound very nice at all. I agree with you, it would be interesting know if it's the same for other 360 users.

I can verify that there is no Crestwood Shopkeeper on the 360...  I couldn't really comment on what other npcs are not present in the 360 version, though.
