What occurred?

I haven't watched that show for quite some time. It actually used to be somewhat decent...and then they got rid of that one old guy with the glasses...

CSI: Miami?

The episode was without a doubt the most poorly written episode of SVU in history.

The show took leaps and bounds to make male gamers look like international terrorists, it was ridiculous.

And there's one line no one here's brought up yet, the one where the doctor tells Olivia that her adopted boy is destroying things because destruction and aggression is written in the DNA of all boys, they all do it.

That *expletive* is disgusting. How an open smear job and joke like this gets released on national television without any form of apology, restorative action, or something of the sort is pathetic.

Its a bloody shame that we live in a world where so many people feel free to talk about subjects they know nothing of as if they are experts.

But then, this isn't new. The world we live in is just as sexist towards men as it is towards women. The difference being that sexism towards women elicits a "loud" reaction and action is expected to be undertaken to stop it while sexism towards men elicits little to no reaction, a "quiet" one if that, because we're expected to deal with it/get over it. "Because thats what men do".

Can I move to the Citadel yet? I'll live on the Wards. I'll invite y'all over. We can play games and laugh at the people living in the last century.

LPPrince that SVU episode is a product of yellow journalism spewed by Polygon, Kotaku, MSNBC, etc. While SVU writers have always been unapologetically biased, and misinformed, they went full libtard on that episode though.

An episode aired of Law and Order:SVU that was basically covering the, "women in gaming are victims" subject. It drew not just from Gamergate.

It had male gamers harassing female gamers at conventions(basically the Anita Sarkeesian, Brianna Wu, and Zoey Quinn analogues), had the males be really successful hackers, had them issuing ISIS and Al Qaeda style video threats while dressed like they were members of Anonymous, including rape, physical assault, attempted murder, etc etc

It was STUPID and so out of left field that no one with a right mind and any knowledge on the real life subjects can accept this as anything other than appealing to the lowest common denominator with complete and utter BS.

Might as well have said all gamers were responsible for 9/11, that was probably the next step.

I love how the people that helped mislead the mainstream media were suddenly offended by this episode.

I'm sitting here like, "THIS IS YOU! THIS IS WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DOING THE WHOLE TIME YOU IDIOT! WHO ARE YOU TO COMPLAIN!?"

But of course, why wouldn't they complain? Everyone's doing it.

The only reason they're upset is because that ep took a **** on the industry as a whole. If vidya made all gamers misogynistic terrorists then what does that say about the game developers?

I know Milo and Breitbart are the devil but judging from this article it seems like more influential figures in the industry are stepping up, and calling out Polygon and Kotaku on their bull.

The episode was classic. Everything from the bad video game puns, the bad line delivery(ex. Ice-T's mention of kotaku and civ 5) and the Gaming ISIS element was hilarious. The two funniest bits were the "go home gamer gurl" line and the one where after said gamer gurl gets assault she mentioned that her attackers "leveled up".

Also, Mariska Hargitay is one hawt 50 year old and whoever plays the blonde cop is nice on the eyes too.

10/10 episode of the year.

Yeah, I am studying criminal justice. The first day of class my professor pretty much just bitched about crime shows for the whole two hours(she was in the FBI so she knows what shes talking about) She pointed out a ton of hilarious stuff and how inaccurate it was. I have pretty much forgotten all of it now but it was pretty funny. I dont get why the genre is so popular.
