I just finished the game--280 hours (I'm not an experienced gamer, though I love the Dragon Age franchise).

In the first two Dragon Ages, there is nothing to be done when the game ends. Inquisition is a little different in that you can complete some side quests, whether it is mosaic pieces or bottles of beer or whatever is showing in your journal. But what's the point other than perhaps gaining some achievements?  From what I have briefly seen, you don't interact with the other main characters when not questing, as after the victory party at Skyhold they say one line and then remain silent when you try to interact with them. This is not a complaint, I more than got my money's worth out of the game, I'm just curious what others have done post-epilogue.

My first game was 200 hours and my second one was about 175...my third will probably be around 150 since I know where to find things and what to do. I didn't play any of my games with the plan to play after the final battle. I'd rather to everything before the final battle, go to the celebration, check a few things out after the celebration and then start a new game. I know it's obvious from my game times, that I don't do speed runs.

Post Epilogue, I quit the character. Play another game for awhile and then start on a new PT.

Yeah, it kinda bummed me out that I couldn't interact with the Inner Circle after the mission had finished. There's stuff to do if you haven't done everything yet - I typically save a few missions for later because of this - and hunting down High Dragon is always fun. I just can't wait until they drop the DLC for the game.

Well any DLC will likely be playable postgame

I'm expecting an expansion of sorts. *resists urge to name it Wolf Hunt*

Wow, 280 hours... On my first run it was about 110 (my longest) and I did most quests. I missed a few things (only found 7 of the 10 high dragons) but I even wasted tons of time looking for those stupid shards. It also included times I just left the game on. What were you doing that made your game go that long? My latest run was 90 and, again, I did almost everything. This time I made the high dragons extinct again too.

As for your question, no idea. Once the main story ends I lose the drive to do anything else in-game.

For my 200 hour game and my shorter games, I did all the quests, including personal quests, found all the shards, killed all the dragons and I think I found all the treasure maps. I think the only things I didn't complete was missing 1 bottle and the glitched mosaics.

I think they already said no expansions sadly

No DLCs? Part of me is happy and part is sad. More happy I think. They're expensive and I don't like having the incomplete content for a time. Once new content comes out you usually have to replay the game over for it to flow well.

There will be DLC's but not any expansions. Does that make sense?

Here's hoping for exclusively post-end DLC, but I won't get my hopes up. I bet they'll shoehorn something in for the second act. :(

Post-epilogue was super disappointing for me. I thought to myself, "Great! Beat the game! Now I'll go talk to my companions and see what they have to say!" All of them had one line about Leliana being elected as Divine, and then silence.

I also didn't like the way they handled romances post-epilogue, which is to say not at all. Cassandra no longer greeted me with "the sight of you warms the heart." Instead I got, "Hello, Inquisitor," and a brief statement about how she would be serving as Leliana's Right Hand, had she not been rejected. Good to know!

Origins wasn't much better, though. My advice: just don't beat the game. Leave Corypheus dangling indefinitely ... that way you can continue to interact with companions, etc.

The first time I played I completed almost everything available to me before going on the final mission. I did this because, even though I knew about post-game play, I didn't know what would be available to me. Even so, I did load up the game and run around talking to people just to see. Other than perhaps getting in some post-game DLC, I won't make much use of it and in subsequent plays I still finish everything before heading on the final mission. To me the game really seems to be over at that point.

I don't know how you guys could play over 200 on one playthrough...

My longest playthrough is 110 hours long, and I have done EVERTHING in it, besides completing 4 mosaics out of 5. The rest, be it killing all dragons, find all collectibles/shards/astrarium, or do all side quests, is completely done. There's nothing left for me besides finding some missing mosaic pieces, but doubt it'd take me 90 hours to do so (and I also don't really want to much).

Shortest playthrough is 85 hours, but I haven't done all dragons and found all collectibles/shards/mosaics there. 99% of quests are done, though.

(Replying to the posters who questioned how someone could take over 200 hours, I can't seem to get the quote thing to work)

It is a mystery to me...from what I have read my 280 hours is way, way above average. I play using tactical combat, even for minor battles, maybe that adds significantly to the time. The only time I'm in the faster real-time combat is when my characters don't have the mana or stamina to use their abilities, so I am using basic attacks.

And while I did most side quests, I never completed a mosaic, never followed a treasure map, and gathered enough shards for only two of the three final doors. I didn't slay any dragons other than the final battle. (I don't particularly enjoy long, drawn out dragon fights, ironic since I love Dragon Age.)

No, it doesn't. What's the difference? Technically didn't we get an expansion on day-one with that $10 extra option that gives you things like music and a unicorn?

I think the last part is close to blasphemy. lol

The only explanation I can think of is that you don't fight in real-time. I played on normal and never used tactics. What difficulty were you on? I hated any pause during combat when using even an AOE spell for example. I suppose using tactics for every battle would add to your length, but considering you didn't even pursue the dragons I'm still baffled. Did you leave your game on while leaving the house or something? lol

I played on normal, and IIRC never accidentally left the game on while not playing. I assume that going to the hero menu or radial menu pauses the timing, if not then that could have added to the time...

While we're at it, I ended up with 215 power, what is the point of ending up with so much unused power? At some point I stopped doing requisitions because I didn't need any more power.

Are you serious??

That's total BS! They just want to keep adding more content to the multi-player.

Well for gaming, Expansions are something huge like Awakening for Origins
