Character creator code

I'm posting this topic in this subforum because I think that can be a good suggestion for the character creation system. I don't know if anybody else has already posted a similar suggestion, but the forum is too big to be updated on everything.

I realised that I'm quite attached to my canon human female Mage and I would like to replay her in the future, as well as other characters, but there's the problem of recreating the face correctly.

So, my suggestion is the following: instead of having a face code like we had in Mass Effect 2 and 3, it would be nice to have the "coordinates" of the different features of our character.

We have to set a lot of features during the creation of our character, but for each one we can write down the number so that, if we want to recreate the same face or if we want to share our creation, we would have to know just a list of numbers instead of the character slides.

For example:

What do you think? Can this be a good idea? Would anybody find it useful?

It's a really good idea.

I use a similar methodology to recreate Hawke consistently.

But until we have face codes, it's only a stop gap for most people.

What I mean is that it should be added by the developers instead of the face codes...

It will be actually a face code but with coordinates!

With Mass Effect it was easy because you had to choose a feature from 1 to X, like you do when you have to choose face, nose or mouth type.

But in Inquisition each feature is then modified and the modifications are described by 2 points (X and Y), so it becomes much more complicated to put that in a code.

Let's say that you have your mouth shape type 2. Then you choose its height, its width and so on and each one is two points. The code for the mouth only would be impossible to understand.

My suggestions consists in adding the coordinates to the creator system and then, you can just write them down in the old fashion (on paper) and keep them. This would also be useful for characters that you already did when they will release the patch 5 with the Black Emporium and the Transformation Mirror. You could get your "coordinates" so that you can recreate your old character!

It's nice that players get creative but this is something I wouldn't like. I wouldn't like having to write down on paper every single change I make, ending up having a pile of papers - or Word documents - that have all my created characters. No, saving a characters face is something that should've been in the game already and it's BW's job (hopefully) to add that feature into game. Maybe some players would like to play around with pen and paper but I don't. I would prefer either face code or a direct save option. Hopefully we get that in the BE.

You made me think about it and yes, maybe many people wouldn't like to idea of writing down the face parameters. I didn't think about it because I'm that kind of person who prefers paper and it happened also for videogames that I just write things down. In my ME2 CD there's a piece of paper with the face codes of my Shepards! And I was also drawing maps of other games so, yeah I'm paper-addicted.

By the way, I think that having at least the numbers of the face parameters could be a first step towards the face code. I don't think that Bioware will put a save option for the face because there's apparently no need for it. In ME it was possible to replay Shepard's adventure twice just uploading the same character, but in Inquisition there's no possibility to replay the same story in the same way as we could do for ME.

Perhaps they could do it in a way where - after choosing the race and class - you would have an option to either create a new face or choose one of your own earlier ones, instead of having a direct save bin for them. Perhaps just by clicking the name of the character from a list or something and then customize further if needed. I hope BW manages to produce somekind of working solution because there's at least two characters (out of 7 in total) that I really want to use again and I don't have sliders for either one.

I understand you. I would like to replay my mage but I don't have an early save...

Let's just cross our fingers and hope that Bioware will listen and develop a way to build a face code!
