The justicar holds a special place in my heart since she was my very first rare character card and my first non-vanilla human adept. The Justicar was my go to character as I made the transition to gold.

But you are absolutely required to shout "Dodge this!" when casting it. Doubly so on Bombers.

Shouting 'dodge this!' into your Kinect makes Reave do 30% extra damage. It's in Cyonan's thread somewhere.

After the 20,000th Pyro, Bomber, Cerberus Dragoon or what-the-f***-ever dodges warp with that cute little side-hop, you learn to really appreciate Reave.

 

Those enemies in particular as they're unaffected by Stasis. Warp > Warp > Throw > Throw just to get an explosion is too much of a PITA... and actually, I still prefer Acolyte > Pull (area) > Reave to Stasis > Warp > Throw on unarmoured shielded mooks.

 

The Commando only really outshines the Justicar against Phantoms, Brutes, Banshees and Scions.

 

 

But you know what's better than a Commando or a Justicar?

Both a Commando and a Justicar on the same team! So much boom!

Commando was the reason I wanted to finally try Biotics after ME 1/2/3 I only played as a Soldier.  BUtttttttttttttttttt my first MP game I saw a AA running round casually flinging Biotic Death around and decided "I WANT TO DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  RNG of course ensured that the vanilla AA was the last unlock in the normal deck.

 

I did however get the AJ in one of the Resurgence packs available when the DLC was released that weekend so she's been my favourite ever since.

 

I'll almost always play AJ unless there's already one or Drell in the lobby in which case I'll go AA.  Though if we get Cerberus at that point I'll let out a little Sqeeeeeee 'cos who doesn't like getting revenge on those b*tches.

I vote for Commando.

 

Reave is a good power, but it does not make AJ a good character comparing to all other Asari.

Actually she is no doubt the weakest Asari, when according to the Lore she should be the strongest.

 

The biggest problem with AJ is that she can not make consistent BE against bosses, where it is

needed most of all. The charging bosses will go through you bubble without triggering BE, therefore

you have to cast the bubble after the charge (if you are still alive).

 

Commando is more reliable and ensures consistent DPS output against any enemy, any faction

at any range. Warp +  shoot + shoot (Wraith) + Throw against bosses (can not dodge). Stasis + shoot

against everything else. You can instantly stop any dangerous mini-boss with high DPS using Stasis,

which is good for your survival.

  

I can play AJ, and even have fun. But Commando is much better.

 

The AJ could be repaired with making pull to prime all the targets. Alternatively, make pull detonator

for Reave. Alternatively, make the Warp of the Bubble a true Warp for the enemies to stay BE primed 

after they leave the Bubble.

The AJ can consistently prime bosses, you just reave then bubble on them. Sure you need to be hugging them practically, but it's entirely doable.
