Not really comfortable with melee... unless it's a krogan
So give me a build for it and I may give it a shot.

oh look an intelligently informed, logical opinion.
I'd save a race of nonsapient domesticated animals like chickens before a bunch of software programs that can easily be recreated, and that's assuming the software programs hadn't been trying to kill me for 3 games straight.
Exactly! The geth get destroyed, the quarians can just rebuild them. The quarians get exterminated, you can't rebuild them. Also the quarians have thousands of years of history and culture. The geth don't exactly qualify as a civilization, unless as mentioned, they use the reaper code. The other thing, in a post-reaper galaxy, the quarians' continued existence will give the galaxy a constant reminder of what happens when you mess about with AIs. "Want to make a race of machines? Oh, the quarians might want to have a word with you." If they go extinct, they're little more than cultural bogeymen who people will forget about because they no longer exist.
That's right, AA's and HS's combos are identical.
Blast. I still prefer the HSent though, as tech armor is tremendously valuable for the added durability.

Edited that post with the build. You can use any shotgun really - raider and venom are my favorites.
Fifty more waves needed with QMI for Machine Mastery... then I can get back to playing my favourite, Mantis GE
Would have finished it with flamer trooper, but I only did ten waves with that bastard and kinda got bored with him. He's effective, but my good... sooooo boring.
Why not just use another quarian if you don't find him interesting? Flamer GTS is probably the most tedious kit in the entire game to use, but you could always respec it as a gun platform as well.

I agree, QMI melee build is fantastic fun. Better punch everything before they recover from arcnade stun.

I don't play QMI. I was talking abt GT melee.

That's why you play Valkyrie... all the bonuses of Hsent, plus a sexy ass ![]()

Much appreciated
Will go with Raider, since even Raider II is better than nonexistent Venom ![]()

I know, your hate for the guy is well publicized

Nah, because there's no throw. I like the Valkyrie, don't get me wrong. She's an awesome kit. But throw is one of my favorite powers in the game, with its super fast cooldown and ability to stagger humanoid enemies with ease.
Also, she doesn't look nearly as funny, since she doesn't wear that stupid mask.
Commando, and it's not close.
Anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn't know anything about the game.
1v1 me in the retirement home scrub. Those stim packs won't help the broken hip that follows.
The one with the nice butt. She's the best asari adept.

who was whining? In my playthrough, it was the geth, that we were being bullies to them, so much that they had to and hide behind Momma Reaper's leg
"we wished to live BAWWWW" (actual quote)
Again, this is the best adept
If they are bullies then quarians suck too. Can you name another bully in the history of everything that lost its home planet, basically everything, to a race of "lesser beings" as you like to point out.
Every man who's ever gone through a divorce.

I agree with that but men are bullies?

Yes, and women are cowwies. Duh. Anatomy.

I could correct you extensively, but it would involve derailing your thread.
Suffice to say, I didn't say the quarians were bullies, the constant geth whining during the singleplayer portion insinuated such. Legion whines constantly throughout ME3, such as the "we wished to live" nonsense excuse it gives for becoming Harbinger's best buddy, or all the quarian related-excuses it gives for constantly being a shady, duplicitous liar to Shepard throughout the 3rd game.
Also, what specific situations of quarian whining in relation to their circumstances are you referring to? Give examples, because I simply didn't see it. They admit their mistakes and get down to the business of correcting it, not making excuses for why they lost. They only ask for your help because the geth enslave themselves to the Reapers after the quarians beat them, and killing Reapers is sort of your job in the plot.

You do know who you are talking to? I do not give a crap about derailing topics. I make stupid topics all the time. And if I had to choose only one race geth vs quarians I would save the quarians, because to me geth and AI has shown that it is unpredictable. And organic life to me is more important to me as a human. I say these things jokingly to you because you act like they are the end all be all of races in ME. And I do understand that you are doing it tongue in cheek also. But you can not honestly sit there and say that the Quarians do not whine a lot and get so annoying. The whole Tali mission in ME2 was non stop whining "we dont have a planet" Maybe I just played that game too many times to count but it got really annoying to me
I'm kind of surprised to see so many in favour of the Justicar over the Commando. Then again, there are lots of soloers here and Justicar is definitely strong when the enemies almost automatically funnel themselves into your bubble. Also, not too many people in general are particularly good players with the Commando, but this mostly applies to the playerbase as a whole, not to all the excellent players in this thread. In any case, from my experience the Commando is definitely faster at killing in team games.
After the 20,000th Pyro, Bomber, Cerberus Dragoon or what-the-f***-ever dodges warp with that cute little side-hop, you learn to really appreciate Reave.
I've seen so many people complain about this, yet I never feel like that's a problem at all. With good timing, judgment and understanding of enemy animations you can land Warps quite reliably. And when they do dodge successfullly, take that as an opportunity. Usually when a Dragoon does that to me it will find itself missing a head within a second or two. Honestly, I've never had problems dealing with Dragoon rushes when playing the Commando - it's the long range sniping that's the real threat.

I've only played it once, but I didn't hear "whining" there. I heard a lot of impassioned debate about the best way forward for the quarian people: an all-out attack on Rannoch, an attempt to re-enslave the geth, or abandonment of Rannoch in order to search for a new homeworld. Some of the views presented by the Admirals were extreme and perhaps ill-advised, but none of them came across as whiny. To me, anyway. Ear of the beholder, maybe.
OT: can't vote on account of not having unlocked the Justicar, but I do enjoy moonlighting as the Commando when not playing a quarian. Explode all the things!

I don't think of bombers or dragoons as being dangerous to the Commando. Bombers are harmless if they don't close in and if you let a bomber close in, you're doing it wrong. It's similar for dragoons, although if they do close in, even an emergency throw would be enough to stop them.
No, I agree with you. Collectors for example, in the early rounds with the Scion spam, are the worst IMO, since Scions shoot from across the map, don't miss, will stagger you, and will drop your shields if you pop out of cover. Same goes with Primes for the most part, although at least Primes can miss sometimes. And need something to force you out of cover. Commando mops the floor with Reapers and Cerby though.

I can, unless you can come up with specific examples or quotes. Tali whines about daddy issues (understandable considering her dad dies as part of the plot), Lia'Vael (the quarian on the Citadel in ME2) whines about racial discrimination (she actually was being unjustly racially profiled) and that's all I can think of. There is no whining in relation to the geth conflict. None of the quarians have any issues admitting that their own mistakes put them in their current position. Gerrel, the most anti-geth of the admirals states in a rather matter of fact manner "we underestimated the geth and gave them time to mobilize" in relation to why the homeworld was lost, not a bunch of morality laden excuses.
Me? Tounge in cheek? Perish the thought. I merely speak the truth. Whether or not you plebeians wish to hear it is up to you.

Well, I don't entirely agree with you ![]()
Commando eats Collectors for breakfast. They're all armor and barriers, exactly what biotics are strong against. The biggest threat they have are the Captains, and all her powers are useful against them, depending on the situation and how she wants to handle them (Stasis being the obvious easy way out). Scions are big, standing targets, and if you have good awareness and positioning, they should never be able to hit you - only their grenades can be nasty at times. Swarms are easily avoidable, Praetorians look nastier than they actually are, and Throw makes Abominations a joke.
They key to fighting Collectors has always been awareness, and that remains true for the Commando as well.
Cerberus and the Geth pose the biggest challenge; Geth because of all the shields, Cerberus because of all the BS sniping that forces you remain unseen.

I never found Captains to be too problematic, for what you specified (stasis). Praetorians are definitely nowhere near as strong as they look, since like banshees, they have no ability to attack at range while on the move. Keeping distance makes them easy to handle.
But I just dread playing Collectors on Firebase Ghost. The cover doesn't offer a lot of good spots to try to funnel enemies through and all the openings allow Scions to shoot from across the map. On something like Goddess or Glacier however? Not nearly so bad. Primes are usually worse there since the closer quarters lets them use turrets, whereas on the long distance maps they're nowhere near as dangerous.
