I also may have been banned from that establishment last time I was there.  It's a little hazy.

I freakin' hate having emotions.  I really do my best to avoid it altogether.  It makes me super uncomfortable.  Like I almost physically can't cry in front of other people.  I was super stonefaced at my grandfather's funeral last month (until they played taps, stupid music), to the point where people probably think something is wrong with me.  And there might be.

FWIW, one of my rules for life is to never judge someone on how they behave at a funeral. There is no universal response to grief. At my mother's funeral, neither my father nor any of her children cried. Yet my father was and is devastated. That's just how we are. My sister-in-law wept openly and that is fine as that is how she is.

A dear friend of mine was left to make all of her mother's funeral arangements by herself by her siblings. She felt it to be her duty to be a hostess, so she was extremely gracious and welcoming at the reception and funeral. But when it was all over, she was utterly griefstricken and mourned.

It takes a certain lack of empathy to presume to dictate how others should mourn.

It was implied that it was more than once in the the BYO post.  Best time: my younger brother took me to the club in Atlanta where Fergie's husband picked up the stripper he cheated on her with.  It was like their claim to fame.  I always wanted to go the Claremont too, but I never got around to it when he was living there.

The Claremont Lounge is one of those bucket list things. You really need to go once, just so you can dish about it for the rest of your life. It is gloriously seedy.
