I have gone to pick up my partners and at times I would waiting in my ride for 45 minutes.

Well that's just rude.

It's funny how many misunderstandings there are when the genders are talking... To us women it's so easy to say the "I love you" thing and I could never understand why a guy had such a hard time telling a woman he loves her.

Men act like "alphas" so much but they are probably the most vulnerable.  No matter what we say, at the end of teh day, we love women and men. We want to feel loved.

I freakin' hate having emotions.  I really do my best to avoid it altogether.  It makes me super uncomfortable.  Like I almost physically can't cry in front of other people.  I was super stonefaced at my grandfather's funeral last month (until they played taps, stupid music), to the point where people probably think something is wrong with me.  And there might be.  Autism spectrum disorders haven't been ruled out.  That's sort of a joke.  I got kicked out of a research study for failing a screener a couple years ago.  I'm sure additional testing would prove that I do not have ASD.  But I do have something of a reputation in my grad program.

The first step in developing a problem is to believe you have one :P

haha well I got used to her. I think women spend a lot of time making themselves feel pretty, I don't really mind it.

Oh youll here it during the BJ lol

I bet....... lol

As a man, "I love you" is one of the most relentless and unforgiving things you could say to someone.

Why is that?

See this I believe, although you dont always act like it, sometimes you just seem so cold and heartless, it bothers me to death.

Yeah that gets old fast. Especially if its cold out but you don't want to waste gas, so you cant decide on whether your just gonna turn your car off and freeze or leave it on.

Also, I was taught not to discuss feelings. Mostly I just leave stuff in the back of my mind.

Well except for this one time when OWA was whipping on me really hard and I couldn't take it anymore so I started crying, and then we discussed feelings.

Other then that tho I keep my feelings to myself.

Edit:damn this thread moves fast

I agree! A woman should always make herself look pretty, another thing I was raised to learn, take care of my looks.

 Explains the avatar :P

Is your husband emotional? Or are you both beautiful stonefaced people?

Good question.

Is strangely volatile an emotion? He gets in these crazy fights with his mom when she visits.  I think they just get on each others' nerves.

I guess he's probably more emotional than most guys.  He's been known to cry from time to time, in generally appropriate situations.  He also gets real lovey when he drinks.  It's kinda cute.

Oh you already do a good job at that :P I just had to slide in a compliment like that tho.

That 45 minutes is worth the wait at times tho. I'm just like "wow"

And it's true! Me and E-Ro usually discuss feelings because I taught him how to, I had to "convince" him a bit at first.... but he learned it quickly afterwards....... I even think he started to like it too!!

I think all people should make themselves look presentable, regardless.

Anyway, this thread is sane and sweet. Very un-BSN like. Good thing?

Why is that?

Because it is crossing the Rubicon in a relationship. The girl will think you want to propose to her. Which will either turn her off and make her want to get the hell away from you, or expect you to propose and go apeshit if you don't or if you stall. As a man, telling a woman you love her is effectively burning the bridges to other opportunities.

No one can self-diagnose like a grad student!

Every time we learn about a new disorder, someone thinks they have it.

Basic hygiene is very important.  And unfortunately lost on a lot of people.

Okay, how do the women in these thread think about men paying for meals? I have been on a few situations where the other person didn't like it. Trying to explain that I did it because it was "nice" and not because I think the man is the provider was mad weird

Psychiatric disorders?

I self-diagnosed when I was taking psychiatric nursing. I'm like, "YES! Not a psychotic! But possibly OCD."

In my opinion, the man should definitely pay for the meal.
