Hey,

 

We have been kicking off each weekend challenge with a Twitch stream that includes, giveaways, challenge information, play MP with the devs, and other fun things!

 

11am MST @ http://www.twitch.tv/bioware

 

Each week i'll be sticking a thread where you can reply with any questions you have about MP, or directed towards a specific developer.

 

Along with Billy and Myself, this week we are bringing in Graham Scott, Senior Level Designer on DAIMP, focusing mostly on the MP level & Gameplay Scripting.

 

If you have any questions for us post them below, and we'll try to answer them on stream.

Will the targets for next gen and last gen consoles always be in only two tiers?

Xbox 360 struggles each week because of their smaller player base, while PS4 kills the target every time.

I'll go ahead and be Captain Obvious here, as to what many of us want to know.

 

1. DAMP DLC - Can you provide any insight as to what is in the works, and intended timeline for release of next DAMP DLC?

 

2. Loot System - Are there any plans to revisit the loot system and make any changes?

 

3. GUI - Are there any plans to revisit the GUI for DAMP characters/prestige?  (It is not set up very well and tedious to navigate and make changes)

 

4. In Lobby Player Loadout - Will DAMP lobby ever provide for us to see each other's loadouts (as we were able to in ME3MP)?

 

5. DAMP Game Modes - I heard some interesting ideas for new modes: Druffalogeddon, Dragon (you play as the Dragon vs 4 Agents), Nugapocolypse.  Any plans for different DAMP modes of play?

 

6. Patches - You guys did a great job fixing the nasty bugs in the Destruction DLC, however many of us (on XB1 at least) are still experiencing too many CTD's.  Any insight on fixing that?

 

7. Choosing Maps/Factions/Difficulties - Are there any plans to add the abilities to set these as host?

Note: You guys did a great job with ME3MP, so you bet we're holding up a candle in comparison to DAMP.  Also, thanks for what you have provided.  We have countable hours playing DAMP.

Questions to developers:
1. Why has Amelia gone into hiding again? What covert project is she working on that suddenly dropped off BSN?

2. Garry (I hope I spelled that correctly) do you ever read your PMs (*hint* read your PMs)?

3. Fiddzz what does your username mean? I'm honestly curious.
4. BioMasika.. umm... I've got nothing.

 

Open questions:
1. Is it possible to get DAMP under the average 215-230 Kbps output (which is still better than ME3) with better matchmaking? Has regional dedicated servers been brought up as an option or is that too expensive?

 

2. When are you nerfing the AW? No seriously.

 

3. Do you feel your future MP content will be enough to draw back the crowd that dropped off? Are you going to go big or continue with your scheduled release dates?

 

4. When are you guys going to release some calculation documentation so we don't have to test so hard, ask so many questions and game hax?

 

5. Why don't you guys become trendsetters and become the first game to use individual PUG/private slots in lobbies? That way you can set 1-3 slots to either Public or Private (i.e. set a slot to private to save a space for a friend while also allowing Public gamers to drop in).

6. Now that you're over the key-glitch hump will there be more focus on game-balance and enhancements (when you're not working on DLC ofc)? How often will those occur?

7. Do you plan to ever get rid of vase loots and settle for the faster pace gaming while incentivizing treasure room raiding?

 

8. How do you plan on addressing player peak since the RNG's lack of level progression all but ruined the dynamic?

9. Do you plan on releasing a new level for overachievers such as myself? Do you plan on making it more challenging as opposed to just buffing the enemies (such as no healing fonts, time completions etc)?

 

10. Do you understand how much of a PITA it is when you change armor skins/themes without notice? Oh wait, that's a rant not a question.

Here's a question.....

 

Why does the matchmaking system decide to throw me into a lobby on my own, rather than put me in a lobby with someone outside Europe when I try to play at odd hours if the matchmaking system isn't region locked?

Questions not yet asked, or expanding those:

 

1.  When are you going to buff Katari for better viability on Perilous?  No seriously.

 

2.  Dragon Age HQ website, what plans for this?  

 

3.  Tied to Robbisan's question on GUI and DAI:HQ, can we please get a screen that shows the currently selected character's stats (like health, crit chance, skill damage, all adjusted by equipment and promotions)

 

4.  Multiple unique items.  People have 8 Griffin bows, i've got about 5 Axes of the Dragon Hunter.  Can we not get a duplicate unique until one of each has dropped?  or let us merge them to add +1 level (e.g.: two level 15 uniques merge = level 16 of the same type), or something to make these "Unique" drops worthwhile.

 

5.  Potion caps.  If we've hit 255, could another roll not give us a potion we haven't got so many of instead?

 

6.  Sprinting.  Always on please?

 

7.  Sprinting speed.  Could really be faster... the current sprint could be normal movement, and maybe a non-combat proper sprint?

Movement speed effects so much of DAMP, from the static nature of combat, ability to flank, time it takes to loot treasure, downtime between mobs.  Yes it may increase xp/hour, and hence promotion rates, but increasing fun is surely more important?

 

8.  Mauls.  Ok fine they're single target, but you miss so often, a horizontal single target swing would be much better than the multiple misses you get even on static targets or pots.  Maybe an AoE that only damages one target with the current animation?

 

9.  Custom button mapping for PS4 (and other consoles).  DAMP is almost unplayable via Remote Play with the Vita, it really needs custom mapping, but on controllers proper it would be nice to map as one wants.

 

10.  everything already asked above, especially Shadohz's number 5 question would be really interesting.

Can we expect to see High Dragon encounters in any upcoming DLC?

Will we see any of the currently unused Focus abilities from the SP on future characters? I would personally really like to see Haste and Rally on some more support-centric characters.

Will we have a Female Qunari Mage or Male Elven Rogue added soon to our cast of characters?

Will you all add some unique weapons with new models and abilities with the next DLC? Fingers-crossed for Bees Proccing One-hander called the Sword of Swarms... Also any chance for Wedge of Destiny in DAMP?

Would you add a Weekend Challenge Intro screen when first logging into Multiplayer, similar to the one used in ME3MP?

Are Schematics still a possible inclusion? I would love to be able to craft weapons, armor upgrades and accessories with all the excess druffalo hide and drakestone in my inventory.

Most important question: What type of donuts we talking here?

Probably you're not able to answer this question at this point (that's fine, if that's the case the answer 'can't say that' is also an answer ;) ), but I'm a little bit concerned with that 'auto-attack is coming back' announcement. Is that change supposed to affect the MP as well? PC players can use either type of controls (pad, K+M), and it was unclear which one is going to get that toggle (if any).

Not sure in what capacity you want mixed lobbies, shadohz, whether it be in any game ever or just in the genre, but it's most definitely been done before.

I want to know what efforts your making to fix the matchmaking. I'm tired of being put in a lobbg on my own whenever I search for a Perilous game.

I also want to know if there are any plans to patch the current loot system?

There are some interesting features in the multiplayer maps, 

such as the Seagull mural and the interesting statues (I like the 'facepalm' statue).

This. We can't see our stats, stat/ability descriptions are vague, some effects aren't even mentioned, and there are a lot of minor bugs like half of ability rings not working.

Can we pretty please see other teammates weapons/promotions? This isn't PvP so it shouldn't make THAT much of a difference other than making games more player friendly.

 

Tired of getting kicked as a level 4 from threatening when I top the leaderboard every time...

Good question:-) I´ve a time-consuming work, so i have time to play mostly during nights or very early in the morning. Most of that time is almost impossible to join other ppls and playing solo is not fun anymore:-(

To tell the truth i´m also interested in ur first question - why has amelia gone into hiding? She was the first one who decided to join the community, i liked her posts ...
