Those percents are so bogus. For perspective, do you know anyone that you just classified as spy worthy?

For the security of the state, everyone is spy worthy! jk

Those percentage should be spied I think or they can do something dirty.

In all truth, the majority of Americans do not care about their privacy even if they boast otherwise. If people actually wanted privacy, things like facebook would never been such a hit. The only thing anyone needs to do to figure out what you're doing is get your facebook/twitter acount. I know Judicial Branch of government has no trouble getting these.

If people really want to flex their rights....

Nvm not even going there, human culture is such bs that none of it matters.

On governments howcome they never tighten up on things like tax loopholes, negative gearing, and keep bailing out corporates as if they are poor people?

And guess which of that lot pays the least amount of tax?

Because those corporations, and unions, are the ones that help politicians get into office in the first place, via campaign contributions and the like. No one closes tax loopholes because the code is such a convenient place to hide rewards for your allies and punishments for your enemies.

Hey is it true your webcam can be accessed even if  your laptop is turned off?

I keep getting told this stuff all the time and I have to wonder.  I'd like to try it to see how you would do such a thing but not sure how you'd do that on a LAN.......

Also if your cellphone is turned off how do you get to use the microphone to listen to stuff?

Yes, your webcam can be turned on remotely even if your laptop is off. Cover it up if you aren't using it. Or close the laptop.

Or put grease on it. NSA will get mad that every footage of you will look like a dream sequence.

Lol.

Also, its not just the government, webcams are relatively easy to hack, there are cites were you can view unsuspecting peoples cams.

Creepy I know, but its the world we live in. Always keep your webcam covered if your not using it.

OK I have my desktop and laptop networked on the same router. How can I try this out for myself?

Laptop is turned off too .....

I'd like to try this out as an experiment of my own.

What are you trying to do exactly? Turn on your cams remotely? Afraid I cant help you there. Google is your best bet, or someone more knowledgeable then me.

OH BTW E Ro

I have decided that mass spying may be OK if they can clean up the internet. Can't they hunt down all the mofos that spam everyone?

I mean lately I've been flooded with emails on how to pick up women but they contain links to dodgy web addresses....  I'd love someone to hunt down the creators of those and put them out of their misery.

I wasn't asking you hehe....... I was hoping the person that mentioned you can do this might  know how. I'd like to try turning the cam on remotely with the laptop turned off.

IMO, IM(likely uneducated)O, this is temporary.

People go on Internet. State spies on people through the Internet. People develop more and more open platforms and technologies. State tries to spy on people through these things, increasingly opening themselves up instead. People exploit the personal and otherwise secrets of the state and officials. We laugh at the big trap that everyone, including the 'leaders', have fallen into.

Just an idea.

The State may have more resources to protect their data, but man, if tech moves as fast as it has been in the past couple decades (or even faster somehow), there's no way there will be catching up. I do predict the day that we all find out the president's porn search history and private discussions about bombing places (etc), and then secrets won't matter anymore. On anyone's side. Pretenses chipped away, bit by bit. Will the result be disastrous? Or actually quite helpful in getting everyone to move past their personal insecurities (and on the other end, the projections that they subject others to)? Or both?

I know we're in an time where people can be refused for hire for having a slightly suspicious Facebook profile, but IMO this too shall pass. But what is passes into... well, that may be a whole other fresh territory for human cultures.

NSA spies on us. And the world mocks them as perverted losers. Not quite a win-win, but at least interesting to witness the societal exchange happening.

I was fooled when I bought my smart cellphone. It's nothing but trouble when connects to the internet and 99% of android games are neither interesting nor gameplay-wise playable. I only wanted a better Camera on my phone. I paid a whole damn 400 American $ for it in 2013... :crying:

I kept a phone from the mid to late 00s for a while, and then just my bf's old couple of phones since then, and they were too clunky as 'smart' phones for me to use them for more than texting. So when I got my first 'real' smartphone last summer, I think I've kinda disappointed him by showing that I can be just as much of an addict to my phone as anyone else :(. Mostly misc Reddit browsing though.

I held out for several years though! I sort of want to test myself to see how long I can avoid putting on a VR headset.
