In fact, two American citizens were killed in drone strikes over seas because at the time they were suspected of supporting terrorist organizations. Later they were cleared of all wrong doing. I don't believe the government is going to start raining down Hell Fire missiles on its citizens but, I do worry about the potential for abuse. Especially when private contractors are hired to spy on American citizens.

And what were the names of those two citizens?

I don't know about the other, but one of them was Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, a 16 year old from Denver.

I am pretty sure  a dozen russians are killed in traffic accidents every 30 seconds

Why do you think it's out of control if your soda machine has a microprocessor?

Not that I disagree but I'd like to discuss this..

It's a soda fountain. Water + CO+ flavored sugar. It has never needed a CPU. It never will. See my point? Soon we will have digital underwear FFS!

I gotta feel bad for the Puzzle Palace agents whose job it is to trawl through the infite metric **** loads of crap that these things must pull in to find that one piece of information that might, eventually, turn into actionable intelligence.

I know they have programs that do most of the filtering but even of the 1% they leave, 95% of it is either useless or only got through the filter by accident.

It's not entirely software.

As I said, they have programs to do most of the heavy lifting, but the remaining 1% has to be looked at by actual people.
