Where is this said? I've never heard this. The only bad things I heard about the chevaliers is that they take "The Lord's Privilege", which is heinous, but not a ritual slaughter of elves.

Oh they kill elven criminals during their initiation.

Some take issue with it.

The criminals guilty walking the street in the Alienage too late. Some people show ridiculous distaste when hearing about the justice righteously dispensed by somewhat intoxicated soon-to-be Chevaliers.

Either way, it's not "ritual", I think "customary" or "traditional" would be a much better word, there is no ritual involved as far as I know. It's more of a part of traditional informal final test, from what we hear about the practice.

Michel, a chevalier in TME, reveals that an initiation ritual for the Chevaliers is that they have to kill an elf. In other words, practially every chevalier we see in the series has killed an elf just to be a chevalier. A dagger in Inquisition also confirms this has gone on for centuries.

Nope.

Breaking curfew can get you killed in real life, it doesn't need be a fictional feudalistic empire.

The Chevaliers kill Elves? Damm, they are awesome!
Now its more difficult to choose between Gaspard alone or the truce for my canon.

If it was a crime punishable by death, to it to the humans as well.

The alienages are under curfew in Orlais.

Beyond that I don't really get your point.

If breaking curfew is a crime punishable by death, then it should be applied equally to anyone out after dark.

I would understand if the elves of Halamshiral were under curfew during and immediately after the rebellion, but I see no reason to have ALL alienages have an enforced curfew. Nor do I see the crime equal to the punishment the chevalier's bring.

If the crime really was so bad that it is worth death, then apply it equally to humans out after dark.

Humans are not second class citizens, who their ancestors tried to kill all Orlesians and failed miserably.
The elvenkind deserves their fate!

If we're going to punish people because of the actions of their ancestors, we are exactly like how the dwarves treat the casteless.

Do you support that?

No, I dont.
I just have a irrational hatred of elves. I only support persecution against them.

Eh why not.

Dwarves are useful, I can ignore their quirks.

Which include all manner of atrocities like the Denerim purge which was so bad that the veil was torn in the orphanage and demons crossed over, the ability to have women stolen in broad daylight in front of a priest on their own wedding day to be a lord's plaything for the night and senseless slaughtering by drunk chevalier recruits.

But hey, at least they don't have it as bad as the dwarven casteless right?

Yes! You forgot Anora purging the Denerim alienage again, it made me like her even more <3. I said it was a irrational hatred.
And the casteless dwarves, in my game, have better life now with Bhelen as the new king.

Seeing as demons tend to appear in many strange places and Denerim has seen more than its fair share of fighting AND it had a circle tower for some time AND the Alienage - when you look at the map - is quite likely in the place where the oldest village of Denerim were located (I wouldn't be all that surprised if the Alienage walls were indeed originally the old city walls)... They're bound to have some seasonal demon migrations even without any purges :D

Not sure if serious. If you are, it's another reason why your opinions shouldn't be taken seriously.

Not from within an orphanage being the source.

And the only other demon we fight in Denerim is Gaxkang. So we have no real sources of demons appearing there other than a result of the purge and a demon who's been in disguise for centuries.

Gotcha. I was getting pretty convinced you were serious about it.

And it was Howe who led the purge, not Anora.

In the epilogue there is one if Anora marries the warden or is the sole queen.
