Shockingly enough mine was Cassandra. 

 

I fell in love with her character much like I did Liara in the sense that I can't seem to play the game WITHOUT her in my party. It just feels wrong for some reason. 

 

Which if you would have told me last November that she would be my favorite I would have laughed at you. 

 

Now she is by far my favorite romance and by far my favorite companion.

Mine is Leliana, although I found her part in Inquisition and DA: II disappointing.  It's a shame that Bioware put her in a minor role.

By 'Recurring' do you mean has appeared in at least two games or all three?

im generally counting people who appeared in all 3 games.

Just one character from all the games? That's too hard, I don't have clear favorite

 

However TOP 3 at the moment would be:

 

1. Dorian: He's just so awesome and I can't say anything negative about him. He's charming, funny, witty, just great. I guess I have kind of crush on him as well

 

2. Zevran: My original bae, he always made me laugh during DAO and just kept my Warden happy during their journeys.

 

3. The Architect: Now that mystery box named Cullen has been solved, I think he remains as most intriguing DA character. I really like anti-heroic characters like him and I think he greatly changed my opinion of darkspawn, like Legion did with Geths :)'

 

Honorable mentions: Cullen, Cassandra, Merrill, Cailan, Isabela, Maric & Evangeline.

Lelianna at first but her character in DA:I isn't to my liking, the small instance of her at the Palace was what I remember of her from DA:O, sure times change 10 years but still.

 

It'd say, Dog. Or Sandal. The reason being that their characters aren't that fleshed out so also won't change.

 

Actual ones, probably Bethany (Warden side) and Loghain (again Warden one). Bethany struggles with her power, and hides from it and othr but as a Warden she is free to use her powers for good of others, she seemed happier. Loghain in DA:O was a great character, driven and determined, making him a warden as punishment was odd but server him well.

Honestly.I can't decide.That is a question I can't answer because I don't have a favorite because they all are well made characters.

Isabela, followed by Morrigan, of course. Then (MY) Hawke, followed by my Leliana, followed by (MY) Hero of Ferelden. Can't say I like any of the new characters in DAI, except my player-character. Even that's so-so compared to previous ventures. It would be nice to have a character I felt was worth romancing in the game. Never ran into THAT before!!!!

To my knowledge (which isn't much) the only characters to appear in all 3 games regardless of player choices are Leliana and Cullen

Alistair only appears in all 3 if he became king... Obviously if he dies killing the Archdemon in DAO, his part is done. If he leaves the Wardens because Logain is allowed to live, he appears as a drunk in the Hanged Man in DA2, so player choice really dictates how he is presented (if at all) in a game.

For me, top 3 per game goes :

 

DA: O - Wynne, Morrigan, and Alistair

DA: A - Sigrun, Anders (DA: A version only), and Nathaniel

DA 2 - Isabela, Aveline, and Carver

DA: I - Vivienne, Dorian, and Cassandra

 

And if I had to put my top 10 in order, it would go:  Vivienne, Dorian, Sigrun, Wynne, Isabela, Cassandra, Aveline, Morrigan, Carver, and Alistair
