I would like a ME4 that shows us the ancient history of the asari having many many more AY active back on terrestrial life on Thessia. "ALL SHALL WORSHIP ME, BIOTIC GODDESS".

I would like this as well.

The potential for AY to muck things up on a large scale is pretty huge. I imagine the asari went through some real **** with them back in the day. I'd like to read about it.

Perhaps Samara only knows of three?

Yet, a Justicar who hunts Ardat Yakshi and visits Justicar Central regularly and lives in Asari space would know the facts about their own species unless, like Shepard, they're a moron.

And you only found out about the honey mead and about the stuff with Patriarch if you interacted with Aethyta and Patriarch and chose to explore certain lines of conversation. Samara was a squadmate and most people explored stuff with her. Drew K needed to have gone over her script better.

Damn. I thought this thread was going to be about the asari enslaving the galaxy one "embrace eternity" at a time. I am disappoint.

It can be.

Galactic domination by snu snu!

Imagine if they embraced and worshipped the AY instead of shunning and imprisoning them. What kind of role would the asari play in the galaxy then? Death by snu snu?

Perhaps it was an AY who originally coined the phrase "embrace eternity".

Someone needs to write that story.

And in any case, what a way to go...

Im not so sure it would be pleasurable. What does it feel like to have your nervous system fried? Is it a literally mind blowing orgasm or more pain than your body can handle? Or do you feel nothing at all? Maybe she can do any of these at will.

Scary.

Didn't need to. When you can conquer everything through diplomacy and raw sex appeal, who needs war anyway?

Look at how well that worked when the reapers dropped kick their ugly looking butt all over the place and they cry like babies for Shepard to do something by revealing the artifact at the last minute

I'd say, apart from giant space tentacle monsters and my fellow insect-likes it worked remarkably well.

And the only reason we insects don't fall for that 'sexy blues' trick is because most of us are drones...

Actually, Queen's Consort shows that even you bugs might have a weakness for asari. It's a short, but rather well written fafic. At least, to me personally.

In all honesty no one did well against the giant space bugs. It was the writers who made the Asari seem like half the race was a bunch of dancers and the other half running around in merc bands, and the rest forgot how to fight. Anthropocentric bunch of dicks.

For a race that is composed of the genetic material of pretty much every sentient species to date, there sure isn't a lot of diversity in how they look. :P

Codex for Asari reproduction  states that the offspring resulting from  interspecies pairings are always asari as no DNA is taken from the partner. Instead, the asari uses the meld to explore her partner's genetic heritage and pass desirable traits on to any offspring and as a "map" to randomize the genes of the offspring.

Although they have one gender, they are not asexual and do in fact require a partner to reproduce. However, asari reproduction is very different from other forms of sexual reproduction. An asari provides two copies of her own genes to her offspring, one of which is passed on unaltered. The second set of genes is altered in a unique process called melding, also known as the joining.

"explore her partner's genetic heritage and pass desirable traits on to any offspring and as a "map" to randomize the genes of the offspring." Sounds a hell of a lot like taking in the dna of another species to me. In fact that sounds exactly like it, only worded to make the asari seem a bit more in control of the whole thing. They're taking the genetic material of their partner, randomizing it like any other species does duirng copulation by mixing the foreign genetic material with their own genetic material to get new traits.

Its like say, "No, this vehicle isnt a car. Its a 4 wheeled transportation device with a central kinetic energy generator fueled by gasoline and piloted with a circular turning aparatus."

Except for the fact that no actual genetic material is taken. Just genetic information.

Right. Genetic information. Which is stored in genetic material. Which is the entire reason it's called "genetic material" in the first place.

Honestly is it so hard to comprehend that, semantically speaking, maybe "genetic material" and "genetic information" might be the same thing, considering that they both lead to the same result of a being with 2 sets of genetic code, spliced together, to form a new being.

Have the asari ever won a war?

That was actually one of the more derpy statements by Shepard in game. He/She just gets lucky that Traynor's Asari opponent was incapable of demolishing him with a good zinger. That statement makes Shepard look like he's unfamiliar with galactic history.

The Asari have yet to lose a war. The Rachni War and the Krogan Rebellion were both victories. Up to that point the Asari also had a better record than the Alliance in the Reaper War, as they managed to win a few battles while the Alliance hadn't. And of the two battles of the Krogan Rebellion mentioned so far in the lore...the Asari defeated the Krogan in both.

No it wasn't

Luck had nothing to do with it. That asari was just a couple cans short of a six-pack

That statement makes Shepard look like he's unfamiliar with galactic history.

Its possible that Shepard doesn't care about that history especially if it has to do with the asari

The Asari have yet to lose a war.

Did they win one on their own?

The Rachni War and the Krogan Rebellion were both victories.

Victories for the Turians, Salarians and asari and not just one species

Battles are not wars. Would they of won those battles if the reapers attacked Thessia first before Earth?

A battle is not a war. You can win battles and still lose the war

Maybe. But it does make Shepard look like he or she isn't the brightest bulb. Someone a little more clever being on the receiving end of that barb would have made Shepard look foolish.

Did they win one on their own?

Victories for the Turians, Salarians and asari and not just one species

Does that matter? Did the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, and the United States not win the Second World War because it was an allied effort? The great majority of modern wars involve coalitions.

Battles are not wars. Would they of won those battles if the reapers attacked Thessia first before Earth?

Maybe. Maybe not. In any case they had won battles against the Reapers while the Alliance had not, which just adds emphasis to how poorly thought out Shepard's statement was. Someone a little more clever than Traynor's opponent would have taken advantage of the opportunity Shepard laid out for her. Shepard was asking to get owned.

A battle is not a war. You can win battles and still lose the war

The Asari won both wars as well.

The battles are worth mentioning because they debunk the notion some people have that the Asari can't fight. The Krogan lost both battles, and at Cyone they assaulted the planet several times and were consistently repulsed. Not that the battles are really needed as examples. The lore explicitly states that the Asari have a reputation for fielding the galaxy's best soldiers.
