I know many of us won't get chance to play ME 2 over and over again in order to experience all party members fully. So I started this topic, list top 2 of the party member you liked and explain why did you like them. This way I might be able to decide which NPCs to use on my second playthrough.
1. Mordin: This guy is amazing, I loved his fast speech and his somewhat ethical stance towards science. Also his singing is over the top
2. Garrus: Good old Garrus, kinda much more angry than he was in ME 1 but still I like his stance toward criminals and he is generally a respectable gentleman =P

Mordin, Samara.
I took Miranda on more missions than either of them. She's quite well balanced.

Zaeed by a longshot.

Mordin, Garrus, Legion, and Zaeed are probably my favorites.

I've used Miranda on every mission so far. I was a Kaiden fanatic in ME1, since I really liked the flexibility a Sentinel brings to the table. I've been using Miranda/Samara with my Vanguard and it's going pretty well. Biotics are a bit less powerful than they were in ME1, but still fairly strong compared to a pure Soldier companion.

The new defense system hit biotics pretty hard. That's why I like to have someone with overload in my party, to take care of those pesky shieldsMetallicaRulez0 wrote...

why do I feel like the "Zaeed" answers are just here to taunt those of us who can't download him yet

Don't worry, they're not JUST to taunt you. He is pretty damn awesome though.CougBigWood wrote...

Zaeed annoys me a bit, but I do think the accent works perfectly.
Was kinda tempted to dump him on his loyalty mission though.

Zaeed is just a Soldier and thusly nothing special. Anytime Synthetics are involved Tali is your go-to-girl for putting hyper velocity slugs into the heads of bad guys. Hell, most of the time Tali has an army she's bringing down on some poor hapless bastard. Plus her battle cry is an homage to the greatest party member ever conceived...Minsc. GO FOR THE EYES BOO GO FOR THE EYES YARRRGGH!!!! In Tali's case it's "Go for the Optics", she can be forgiven for not delivering it with all the verve and vigor that Minsc does.

Legion#1, Garrus is more awesome this time around. Mordin and Grunt are awesome. I really like Thane too but his skills just aren't required.

They are all great. Mordin shines though. Garrus has even more GAR now. And the rest area also great. Tali, of course...

They've done an amazing job with the characters this time. Love how deep grunt actually is and it is good to see how Garrus and Tali have matured over the course of two years.

I haven't recruited Thane or Samara or Zaeed yet, to be fair.
That said, so far, fav characters based on personality/story - Jacob and Jack
Based on usefulness in missions. Garrus and Jack.
I try to switch things up though anyway, and I generally really like all of them so far, Miranda is the one I'm closest to not caring about, but even then.
My favorite Non-companion? Aria. Hands down.
