Point of clarification: demons are genderless. They are no more "female" or "male" than the afore-mentioned statue.

Yeah, that's pretty much my main problem with them. By making them near-exclusively female (two games with only female desire demons, and one with a single male demon that doesn't share the female demons' highly sexualized appearance), the games are positing a connection between specifically female nudity and demonic evil. "Oh those devilish women with their tempting ways" and all that kind of crap.

My personal gripe is with them being exclusively female, not with their design. I don't swing that way, why would that form tempt me? Keep the ones we had, but undress Imshael, give him some nipple piercings and a large package, and I'm good to go...

I've always kinda assumed that any Desire Demons taking a male form would kinda look like the HEX TCG's Mancubus. It even comes with the aforementioned nipple piercings and a goat feature! You just need to add some purple fire hair to complete the imagine...

You know the only solution to the no Desire Demons in DA I problem is to have the next DLC start off with the Inquisitor surrounded by hundreds...no thousands...of desire demons...and then to wake up sweat dripping off the brow as if from a dream...even the Dwarves.

There should be more male desire demons, is just weird that all the common type of desire demon have looked like purple horned women touching themselves up, straight females would hardly see that as desirable

They are different in the damage because they truely ARE two different things entirely. It's the same old 'men are sexualized in comics too' argument which is a falicy. Men are idealized.

An ideal is something to aspire to. An object is something to be used. There is the difference.

People confuse the harm caused by this idealisation with it being the same kind of harm. These hyper muscular huge dudes create body image issues much the same way that hypersexualised portrayals create body image issues. The difference is that the idealisation is created by men, and some men are active consumers and enjoy it. Beyond that, there's no historical context of discrimination.

But that's all different.

What exactly does that mean? That no female creators create images of "huge dudes", enjoy and consume it? That women never idealise/idolise such male body types? Or , that on the other hand that women can't enjoy and idealise a hypersexualised female form? I think I'm missing something, care to elaborate a bit?
