I sense there could be amusing answers to this. I personally save teammates all the time. Not out of need, but because it feels like the courteous thing to do. A lot of people rage when they get banshee hugged or phantom stabbed or atlas choked or praetorian lifted, so I try to prevent that raging by helping them out. Unless they're using a TGI or AIU because if you get sync killed while using one of those, hey, what can I say? I think you deserve to sit out a round. Also Krogan, to a much lesser degree, just because their whiny death sounds are so funny to me. I even laugh when I get grabbed as a Krogan. ![]()
Do you break up sync kills or let teammates get wiped?

I usually save them if I catch it in time. A lot of times I am not quick enough on the draw though. :/

I quickly consume a thermal clip pack or two to increase my weapon damage & try to break the sync-kill animation. This the the most reliable way because switching to the missile is slower and is most often than not too late.

I think it depends partly on the character. If I'm a human engineer and it's a banshee, my partner is going to be out of luck if I don't use a missile. If I'm a drelldept or batdept on the other hand, I'm going to break it up the more conventional way.

Mostly depends on whether or not the thing doing the sync killing is alone or has other armored units within the blast zone. Also depends on my likelihood of success after the fact. For example, the probability that I'll use a missile to rescue my teammate late in wave 1 is 0%, but early in wave 10, it approaches 100%.
Even if I don't use a missile, I always prioritize rescuing my teammate. If I can do enough damage with small arms that the baddy staggers and drops its victim, that's always a good thing.

I am usually not interested enough in pugs to notice that they are getting synced. If I somehow do, I'll try to save them if possible. Unless they were being annoying.
With friends, I'm usually much more likely to spot them in time.

I'm pretty good at getting the rocket out in potential synch-situations.
Except when I'm the one about to be synched. For some reason, I suck at getting my rocket out in time when that happens.

I always save teammates if possible. It's about the only time I ever pull out the rocket launcher.

I usually anticipate when a PUG is going to be sync-killed so most of the time I'm quick enough to save him.

Save you or revenge you is merely timing
If I'm close enough and looking in their direction you can usually tell when it's going to happen.

Most of the time I will missile Banshees or Praetorians if see the grab coming. Can't help with Phantom stabs or Brute chokeslams. And in general I go great lenghts to revive people even if they are mostly useless.

I have a confession:
I actually let scions kill my teammates even if I could have stopped it because -- let's face it -- it's just so much ****** fun to watch.

I save quarians. Rest get rekt unless I was already shooting what grabbed them. If they're geth or cheesy kits, I will intentionally let them get hugged.
Exception being on hack/ escort waves I will try to keep the derps alive. Even if they're useless otherwise, they at least make things go quicker or serve as distractions

Except when they're not even contributing to those either.

Depends if it's dumb luck - as in, cheating Banshees teleporting through a wall - or their own stupidity. If it's the latter - for instance, a Krogan that's trying to melee a teleporting Banshee - then I won't even try to missile. As FTFTL already said, it's probably a waste missile anyway. If I'm a Javelin GI, I will always (try to) headshot the Banshee/ Praetorian/Scion/Atlast. The animations of Phantoms and Brutes are just too short to intervene, more often than not.

Largely dependent upon my mood more than any other factor. I've kited phantoms behind teammates for giggles at times, generally try to revive randoms and friend in front of Banshees and the almighty Crablord.
