What is this I'm hearing about people giving a modder crap for making a Cassandra female romance mod?

I think Magic is trying say that DAI wasn't made to be easily edited the way NWN's was.

As for the modding bit, there is something about using a mod to change a character's sexuality that I and other people find uncomfortable.  And I mean this for any character, not just straight ones.

But Magic also specifically said

I care about setting and story integrity. And I want others to as well. I WANT players to be overridden and to play by a world's conditions and rules. It's always assumed these days that the player rules over everything. I disagree. Games are not necessarily better the more customization and options and modifications you put in. Options are put high on a pedestal. When I think "vision" needs to be there. Where creators rule.

As if the issue isn't specifically about the customizing a character, but about customizing any part of the game setting.

I fail to see how this differs in any other mod. Nude mods, sex mods... physics mods ( <_< )...

Google "Skyrim adult mods". Go on, I dare you. There's some messed up s--- for that game.

This sounds to me like old-world Puritanism. The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, could be happy.

She made the mod, she knew it would upset people. She should have expected this behaviour from the community.

No one should expect harassment of this kind from "the community". Such community should know and especially act better.

There's a difference between expressing your concerns calmly, and flipping one's **** in inane fit of rage and name calling. If one's too angry to do the former, they should take a walk until they calm down enough not to do the latter.

Not to mention the death threats.   That is still making me roll my eyes.

I don't agree with this mod, not like it or support it but creator can do whatever she like, it's her work.

And anyone can use it, it's not my game and my story. Just don't start to claim your fan fiction is canon

or an official, it's no different than happy ending mod for ME3, in the end it's still a fan fiction noting more.

What I have a problem is people who tell it's fine to alter straight characters but not for LGBT, that a high level

of hypocrisy right there. (I saw plenty but I not gonna link or tell you who, that is personal attack.)

If you asking to be treated equally then you should do the same to other as well. Stop pulling victim card to gain advantage.

Heck, if nothing else, I applaud Natalie for her work.  Doing any sort of mod for this game is not easy to do, especially on the Frostbite engine.  I may not care for this particular mod, but I can appreciate the work involved.

Well, she insulted people in both the straight and LBGT community with this mod. She provoked them, so she is just as responsible for what happened as the 'rape commenter' is. She also said upsetting things to the straight community on tumblr, and that is also a form of bullying.

You know, I don't think she meant to insult anyone with this mod.  If folks are insulted, I don't think that was the intent of the modder.  If anything, it seems like she was trying to give the L/B ladies more options.  I also don't think she meant to insult straight people either, since it's not like she made Cassandra for women only.

Folks are taking this far more personally than they should.  It's a video game mod.  This much frustration and anger isn't worth it.

Is this the whole "she started it" argument? This behavior is immature for anyone who participates. If people don't like the mod, then ignore the author and let her mod sink into obscurity.

I, for one, am just glad we're finally at the point where we can mod. Since DA:I was initially presumed unmoddable. Perspective, people.

I used like two hundred and fifty mods on my game, i had you name it on mine, i loved them all, i had boobs mods, slutty mods and whatever else i felt like adding..

Honestly the only line i drew on mods was this one... <_<

That person deserves hate.... joking.. but i wont use it..

"She wore the skimpy clothing.  She walked down the dark alley late at night.  She should have expected the rapist to emerge from the shadows."

Not the most defensible line of reasoning there...

Oh we all knew mods were gonna happen in the form of texture mods and flycam

A lot of us were saying things like romance mods might not happen was because of the reason the Cassandra and Solas mods are really pointless

Haha I remember this one. They showcased it on Skyrim Mods Weekly I think. I can't remember if this was the same episode with the magic nipple shooters or not.

I think mods are always a choice and isn't something manadatory a player should have (unless it fixes gamebreakingbugs, BW doesn't patch up),

Mods are there to cater to the player's wants and it is up to their discretion if they use it or not.

For **** sake, its a game, go out side, get some sun and realize the world is not about you or whatever groups you associate with...

Mods like this do exist in the reverse and plenty of lgbt gamers never made a fuss/don't give a toss. Shocking, right? But don't let facts get in the way of you jumping on a chance to use a single incident of silliness as an excuse to take cheap shots at those super sensitive queers and their social justice lovin' allies.

Modded love will be right heeeeere :aaaaaaah aaaahhh uuuaaaaah:

Except there was backlash when someone tried to make Traynor and Cortez straight through modding as well. Get your facts straight kid, go home.

Holy crap... people are ridiculous. it's a MOD. If you don't like it, just ignore it. You're taking other people's enjoyment because "YOU" don't like the idea of it? Seriously ****** off. How entitled can people be?

True but texture mods are more pseudo-mods, imo. This "make cassandra bi" mod sounds like it changes actual plot flags which is a huge step forward. This says to me: this is possible, better ones will emerge. I wouldn't probably download this myself, but it's very existence pleases me.

I'm not talking about  the RL rape incident am I? Provoking people is a form of bullying as well. But apparently, its perfectly fine for the SJW to attack other people.

Well it's not about her either. FYI I am outside so :/

I doubt better ones will happen because they can't add in voices nor change the fact the characters will refer to the Inquisitor as the intended gender or fix the animations (which I honestly do feel Frostbite won't allow)
