Isn't David Gaider her writer?
Yes, he is. As per his Tumblr post:

Q: Hi Mr Gaider! You and the BioWare team have done an incredible job with Inquisition. Thank you. :-) I particularly like the character development in the DA series, and I was wondering: is there a place to see which team member wrote which DA character? It's difficult to find a reliable source online, and it would be very interesting to know. Thank you!
A: I'm not sure if there's a resource like that online — maybe? I can answer for at least the major characters, though even there it has to be with the understanding that there is always going to be a lot of crossover. We write each other's characters a fair amount, not to mention extensively reviewing each other's work. It's a collaborative effort, even if there is a single writer primarily responsible for a character's voice.
With that said, to the best of my recollection:
Myself: Cassandra, Dorian, Morrigan, Flemeth
Sheryl: Blackwall, Leliana
Mary: Vivienne, Varric
Luke: Sera
Patrick: Cole, Iron Bull, Solas
Sylvia: Josephine
Brianne: Cullen
He was talking about the people saying they'll use the mod just to ****** off the people criticizing it
I forget, someone remind me when SJWs went from promoting tolerance to essentially doing all the bigoted things that claimed to be against?
Sjw promoting tolerance?
That's a good one!

On the intrawebs? Sadly, that's true more often than not. That's a very extreme response. Are you really telling me that someone saying that they received negative messages should result in a broad assumption that they received death threats and rape threats?
The mod creator didn't creat the mod to spite people
I didn't say that she did. You quoted my post out of context.
The person that I was responding to has since clarified to correct the misunderstanding. The initial post was:
I'm tempted to make a bi Dorian mod just to spite those assh*les.
Which was quoted and responded to:
I'm not sure some writers would appreciate their characters sexuality being modded and turned into ammunition just to spite people.
A post that you "liked," so you obviously read it.
Which was quoted and responded to:
Cassandra's writer has repeatedly expressed indifference to how people mod their games, including with respect to characters' sexual orientations.
I quoted and responded:
That may be true, but it doesn't mean that they would approve of someone doing it with the specific intent of spiting people.
And the clarification:
Agreed. I wasn't disagreeing with that part of the post, I was just saying that the possibility that the writers' feelings are being hurt is not (in this particular case) justification to be upset about optional mods that don't affect canon, since he's said he doesn't care.
(edited for clarity)
Please do not try and imply that I made accusations that I did not make, when you know full well that we were not talking about the modmaker.
On the intrawebs? Sadly, that's true more often than not.
That's not what I'm saying, though. It would be more along the lines of "do we need to debate whether there actually were death/rape threats included in the package, and does the answer to that change anything?" Or, to put it simpler, it feels to me like an (unintentional) red herring. Regardless of the answer, the fact remains the author of the mod received enough comments/messages she perceived hurtful, that she took the whole thing down. That's the bottom line and it remains inexcusable, imo.
My concern was to dial back the rhetoric. I'm sure you can understand that there was no need to imply that I was dismissing whether harassment is an issue.
That she was hurt was never something I questioned - I have posted in this thread that I am aware that her feelings were hurt by the affair. My only concern is that people are letting loose with attacks, and bringing the debate into extreme territory by suggesting that the people who criticized the mod were issuing death threats and rape threats, or conversely those suggesting that making or using such a mod is somehow something to be angry or hostile over.

Oh I know but I wouldn't be surprised if an anon really did something like that.
SJW's are like hipsters.
Everyone gets called one so that eventually all meaning for the word is lost.
For those not up to date on our internet lingo, what the dickens is an SJW?
Why do PC-gamers have to mod every single game that they get their hands on . And then be so shocked when some games are never released for PC.
Everyone complains about everything on the internet.

Well he'd a freshman in highschool. Not really surprising.

fix bugs that are still present? just aesthetic reasons, such as more customisation options/better hues or just to improve the graphics a little? maybe you don't like a certain outfit and if a retexture mod isn't enough, then how about a completely different skin that is more visually appealing? silly things like making dog a little quieter in camp in DAO and no bloody teeth in DA2? more content and custom quests, like in DAO?
sure, you'll get the nude and sex mods, those are to be expected, as well as cheats. but not every mod is bad, like the ones i mentioned in my example above. they are all completely optional though. no one is forced to download them. personally, i think modding is just another way that shows just how much appreciation a fan has for that game; that they would be willing to work so hard to improve it or add their own stamp to it and even be willing to share their work with others.
Yes, he is. As per his Tumblr post:
Thank you. I had no idea, and now I've been able to tweet him to say thank you for how much I've enjoyed Cas as a character.

Fascinating, in principle it sounds like something i should support, but nothing about this thread suggests the kind of behaviour I would think of in terms of social activism.
Oh and thanks for the abbreviation. Honestly, I get more and more lost as the years go by ![]()
Is just a general insult now, used to used on people who used social issues as an excuse to be rude a-holes but now all you have to say is something as little as "I think gay people & women should be treated respectfully in the gaming industry" & you'd likely get attacked as "SJW scum"
Ah. that's sad.
If it was a "gay character made straight" mod it would be this cranked to 11.
That's what happened when the Cortez and Traynor mod happened, that was a warzone
