Plot hasn't stopped people from making a 'Solas for all' mod.

These romance mods are little more than fanfiction anyway.

has the fanbase changed that much
I must ask. Why do you you people care what others do on their games? Are you gonna track people down and put a knife to their heads and force them to play the game in the way you think it should be played?
I'm pretty sure people have already acknowledged that what people do in their own games is up to them
Doesn't mean we can criticize the mod itself

You weren't around when people were demanding Dragon Age Keep to include their world states from the mods they used.
What people do with their games is their business. I agree with that.
But theres a group of people in the fandom who think they can do better than the writers. They will start demanding their canons become part of the lore.
When all is said and done...the writers have the right to create the characters the way they envisioned them just as people have the right to mod their game the way they wish. Its that simple.

Exactly. When Dragon Age Keep was announced there were all these complaints that people could not used import their world states with the mods they used. They actually assumed their modded games would be part of the lore.
Its one thing to mod the game the way you want it, but when you start demanding the writers to change the lore to include your modded game...thats when it becomes selfish.
Here's my question:
If they were instead modding Dorian to be straight, would you all be so quick to defend it?
I would call anyone out who modded Dorian straight. He is perfect the way he is.
But the thing is...theres alot of hypocrisy in the fandom when it comes to modding.
The Warden is Commander Shepard. The planet the Normandy lands on in the ending is the Hinterlands. This is canon and they will acknowledge it sooner or later!
Seriously though, we could just drop it. There's no issue anymore.
It doesn't matter because clearly if you're modding a character's sexuality you don't really care about integrity of the canon.
Exactly. Its people assumption that they think they are better than the writers.
my point is that dragon age inquisition got a award for the outstanding representation of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) characters. a award from GLAAD Media.
it's disrespectful to use a mod to change the representation.there are real people (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, heterosexual) out there and behind the character representation.. proud people they enjoy that lesbian, gay and bisexual are a part of the game.maybe some of the game development worker are gays or lesbians, bisexual.
this all can be removed with a mod...or changed and that feels wrong.
you may say that it's only cassandra and that nothing will be removed..
just changed a little bit...only a little change of her sexuality.
but thats the start to legitimize also other changes too much.
as example:
maybe a white skin vivienne...or that every character is heterosexual....or that every female character is bisexual...remove the transgender krem or to make krem to a man or woman.

There are people on Tumblr who said that the game did not deserve it and that BioWare did not do enough.
Stories aren't real life? My dear...You must be blind how the world works these days. How many idiots are out there that actually try to change someone's sexual orientation? Such causes exist in real life. Please...don't give me bull****.
Bah. I haven't killed anyone yet in RL. In games? Plenty, and I don't feel bad about it. Stories are not real life. Period.
And can the condescension.

its a fictional character. You seriously have issues
Wrong. It's people having a personal preference that doesn't match the writer's vision.Exactly. Its people assumption that they think they are better than the writers.
Wrong. It's people having a personal preference that doesn't match the writer's vision.
And its arrogant to demand the writers change their vision. There are things I'd love to have the game. But I don't have the bravado to assume I am right and they wrong.
When all is said and done....its still their vision. If you want to mod your game...go for it. Just don't demand the writers to add your perosnal canon to the lore.
There's a highly praised black!Sera mod on Tumblr, I have no horse in this race but you have to laugh at the hypocrisy.
Wrong. It's people having a personal preference that doesn't match the writer's vision.
And the writers are the ones who created whatever their vision entails.
"The last chapter of this book doesn't appeal to me, I'm going to rewrite it."
"This particular scene of a movie doesn't appeal to me, I'm going to re-shoot it."
"I don't like the way da Vinci drew the Mona Lisa's nose, I'm going to make it bigger."

I was wondering if I should bring that up ![]()
OK, that I can agree with. Though the line between "telling the writer how things could be better in my opinion" and "demanding a change" is blurry. For instance, I think DA2's "everyone is bi" setup felt highly artificial, and things would've been better had they worked as in DAI.And its arrogant to demand the writers change their vision. True indeed, but it doesn't change the fact the game is what it is and that's how it's supposed to be.

You coudl post a link to this? I want to see what she would have looked like in the game, if Biwoare had kept her initial cocept look

Ahh, the ME3 memories. Nostalgia..
