Attacking a modder over a completely optional mod...
[...]
Now i just hope someone makes a mod that turns all characters blond, blue-eyed and white. For no other reason than just to make these peoples heads explode. And posts the hate mail for public ridicule.
Indeed.
Bonus-points for pointing out that in DA's setting, species tends to trump skin-colour.
(Possible exception: the irony of having a mage 'White Divine' Vivienne, who is actually dark-skinned, mirroring the 'Black Divine' of Tevinter in her mage-ness. But then, that's more of an ironic thing, really.)
SpoilerOh the memories.
Suppose I am a terrible person for not dismissing that out of hand, then?
Then again, people apparently lost it over a retexture of Cassandra that featured optional variations sáns scar - a scar for which, in-game, there isn't an immediate explanation given, mind! -, bullying the author of that off nexus in a similar manner.
Anyway, closer to this thread's original topic, word of Mr Gaider himself on the matter:
Do fans react to fanfiction which changes a game character's sexuality the same way, or do mods hold some kind of special status? Curious.

@davidgaider I think it might come down to canon vs fanon; fanon is malleable and personal, but to deign to change the source material?
this:
Wouldn't that only apply if their mod changed your game whether you downloaded the mod or not?
Not exactly something that wasn't brought up here already, by one of the game's writers no less.
