I'm gonna mod in people into DAI and kill them over and over. Because I'm evil and do bad things.
DAI is my voodoo doll. Take that!

But I am voodoodollstabbykin.
Dorian has been modded. There was controversy. The mod remains because the modder - and the community behind them - stood their ground.

I really don't give a crap about the mods one way or the other, but this whole "stand their ground" thing confuses me simply because Nexus Mods has a brutally efficient zero tolerance policy about aggressive posts. There is no ground to have to worry about standing upon there. You get harassed, the harasser will be banned.

Wait, I thought Cassandra was already a female romance. I mean she can't possibly be a male romance with that jawline.
Where is this mod? Because I tried googling it and came up empty handed. And I'm surprised the modder managed to stand their ground under the wave of Tumblr screeching it caused.
Maybe she stopped reading Tumblr? That's what I would do. Actually I don't pay attention to Tumblr now.
I'm comparing it to the equivalent hetero female options in this game. Females get 3 completely, totally, utterly hetero options. Solas, Cullen, Blackwall. Two may be race locked, but it's still a lot more than the guys got.
Guys get Cassandra, and that's it. Nothing to do with previous games. I'm talking strictly about DA:I.
As an aside, there's only two women PERIOD for men to romance, and that's... well... it's unfair. It's Cassandra or Josephine, and that's it. Female inquisitors get four males, when you add in Bull. Granted, none of them are terribly appealing with the exception of perhaps Cullen, but it's still a LOT more choice.
Believe me, it's just as strange to me to find myself in this position, making the comments I am making, but the funny thing about championing equality is that you have to actually... Champion equality. Guys got shafted, period.
If the choice isn't an acceptable choice to the person it is presented then it isn't a choice.
i think the best solution would be if bioware release a saint valentine's day dlc to bring more romanceable npc into the game they looks like naomi campell and heidi klum.why must only companions romanceable? why not a peasant women or girl ...a inquisition soldier girl and many more girls too? its the same with the man.
then we could have more gays.. straight .. lesbian.. and bi options .because like before every new npc should have his own orientation.

Because content, unless you want something similar to Morrowind.
They could, but then it would be closer in experience to Skyrim or Fable, where the romance feels tacked on and not terribly epic. Companions are the best options, really, because you are living your struggles with them. Even Josephine's romance, while cute and definitely well-written, didn't feel quite as real as Sera who went through all of my Inquisitor's struggles actually by her side. So, I think they do need to take a lesson from this and balance things a little better, but the way to do that isn't by just tossing in a few serving girls to make the youngest and brashest of us happy.

Oh for the love of all that is holy...
I was playing Dragon age II last night and have to wonder why they changed her design so much. She was really quite stunning in the second game. She looks rather plain in this one, actually, compared to that. Then again, Hawke looks terrible as well. When the question came up about choosing the "iconic" Hawke I expected the actual iconic Hawke, with her signature deep blue eyes and that little bit of hair that fell just between them... She was gorgeous.
What it actually ended up being was kind of... meh. It definitely didn't look like my default Hawke.
I think that might be a failure of the engine or something, though. I mean, for both of them to look so much plainer than they did in II... I dunno.
I guess what this thread is suggesting is that sexual orientation isn't really a driver of attraction or something, people that are bisexual or homosexual lust after straight identifying people (sometimes) and I guess perhaps vice versa (sometimes). I guess that's somewhat contrary to my original understandings of how this all works..

It can happen, yes.

I am genuinely confused, why would you think sexual orientation always plays a role to attraction? Attraction can happen before even talking to someone. You can just look at someone and find him/her attractive.
.... You can just look at someone and find him/her attractive.
Or even when just talking/chatting to someone before even seeing them. I distinctly recall, in my youth, having a conversation with a young lady at a party, outside, where it was dark enough that I could not make out anything more than the general outline of her and yet the conversation was stimulating (not sexually) enough to cause an attraction.
The notion that people's sexual orientation can be distinctly identified by their looks is pretty shortsighted indeed.

Eh I don't know.. the more you know I guess.
Anyway, all things considered, people living out the fantasy of turning their favorite character different sexuality seems pretty harmless ultimately. As people have been saying, Cassandra isn't real and all that. The point of these games are fantasy and getting what you want.
On the other hand, trying to coerce someone to a different orientation in reality would fundamentally be no different from all other kinds of sexual coercion I would think. That, would not be harmless, but that's also not what we're talking about here so /shrug, I don't see the big deal I guess.
I don't understand why anyone cares. It is a mod. Big deal. Man alive, the people these days have never heard of "live and let live", they want to fight over every stupid irrelevant thing. WHO CARES. Don't like the mod? Don't install it. This isn't that idiot Obama and his braindead Dem friends forcing you to buy insurance. It's 100% optional. Why do you care? Why are some of you "offended?" What's it to you? Overly sensitive busy bodies are killing this world.
