well seeing this is as canon as "white Isabella" I will have the same reaction, none at all
Fear not when all is said and done there will be mod for everyone most likely and sadly

Heck, there'll probably even be a mix of polyamore and bisexual mod.
Remember when Sera was announced as lesbian there were equally people being jerks to those that were disappointed. That's just human nature.
I remember the hate for Sera getting extreme when she was announced as gay, acting like her character had been destroyed by it & that she'd be better off dead. People act OTT over fictional characters abit too much sometimes
More than sometimes tbh lol an hell lot more than abit ![]()

Yup
Needs to be a new rule for the internet about mods if you think something should be done there is a mod for it or something
It's a never-win game when it comes to sexuality and modding because (a lot) of people are completely incapable of separating a video game character and a real person. There's a real sense of personal involvement in it to them, one way or the other, and it always turns volatile.

Starting to think maybe Libria had the right idea...

First, I understand why some people might find a bi!Cassandra mod offensive, just like I would totally understand why people would find a bi!Dorian mod offensive.
Really? Doesn't make a lick of sense to me. Even if someone wants to mod their game, say, to make Leliana a transvestite Qunari mage, how could it possibly affect me or give me reason to care, like, at all? ![]()

It wasn't exactly the same thing though. After Sera was revealed as gay, it was very extreme, there were homophobic things thrown by many guys disappointed. It's one thing to be disappointed, it's another one to throw insults and disgusting things, and there were many, so it's totally normal if not many felt compassion for them, were hostile instead, myself included. I'm not easily offended, but I was truly offended by what I read that night and some days after lol.
The people who hate the mod, and the people getting offended at people who dislike the mod. I'd say both of them care a great deal.
Then these people are a strange and nosy lot. Personally, I won't use the mod for a lot of reasons people in this thread have already mentioned, but I wouldn't condemn anyone for using it and I definitely wouldn't come down on its creator. I understand that nothing exits in a vacuum and that the fact this mod exists says something about the culture we live but I just can't bring myself to turn this into a debate. Why? Because such a mod's existence has no impact on my game or the overall canon of Dragon Age. So why stress? There's much larger and more important battles that could use my SJW battle skills then this strange little debacle.
Besides, this mod is mod is harmless and somewhat pathetic. I don't mean to be demeaning to the creator when I say that but come on, Cassandra still refers to you as a man throughout the romance and it's not as if Keep is going to acknowledge it in DA 4.
It's kind of like trying to edit and re-dub your favorite show so that your two favorite characters are in a same-sex relationship. No matter how good you are at editing its almost never going to be as good as the real thing.
Wow, so they bullied the modder into taking it down? Just wow. The modder should go ahead it will do no harm to anyone.
If people don't like it don't use it and move on.
They want to mod Cass because they love her character, obviously? That is a credit to the writers if you ask me.
Heck, there'll probably even be a mix of polyamore and bisexual mod.
Not unless players are okay with huge chunks of romance content not having voiced dialogue and animations. Putting in a polyamorous romance is not flipping a switch. It's a very serious chunk of content to add.

The same can go for the Solas mod too

I think all that was done was changing a flag that acknowledges that you're a female and starts the rejection scene, and not much else can be done from there outside of performing a miracle to fix everything that I find to be very awkward about it, which is everything from the animations to being voiceless and such.

I didn't even know this existed. Is Solas bisexual in this one or no longer race-specific? Or both?

Is that right?
Because to me it says "I'd like to play as a female and romance Cassandra."

Both
Yeesh, what a nightmare. Though to be honest, the second she mentions folks accusing her of "straight erasure" is the second I raise my eyebrows at the notion that this is an attack by "SJWs" as I understand it rather than a different brand of shitlording troll. Seems more likely that they're the same dicks who scream themselves constipated about the actual "SJWs" just trying to be unpleasant to her.
People should be left to mod in peace. There are always going to be awful mods, as anyone with a cursory knowledge of both Bethesda games and Bioware games will know. This one isn't even awful.

Yeah, even if I did support these mods the laughable lack of immersion (I hate using that word) would make me cringe. But hey, props for the creator for at least being able to do that.

There's a difference between understanding and agreeing with. It's not a hard distinction.
I know it's easier to assume that, in a black and white world view, someone who understands something must agree with it.
I disagree with that premise and prefer nuance in my life. Through active listening (reading), empathy, and sympathy for other human beings, I strive to understand the viewpoints of others, even if I don't personally agree (which is the case in the text you quoted). I'm sorry you either aren't willing or capable of doing the same.
I thought the remainder of my quoted post made it quite clear that I didn't have a problem with the mod or condone the reaction of the mob.
