Anyone on the BSN a skateboarder? Past, present, planning to in the future?

Curious because at the moment I'm relaxing, listening to music, and remembering my days as a little kid on the streets of New York City with a skateboard.

Haven't done it in ages, not that I was very good anyway. hahaha

But I've always loved watching skateboarders rock their stuff and kick ass at it.

I LOVE ME SOME SUMMER X GAMES

Played the Tony Hawk series a ton as a kid and teen

And I'm subscribed to The Ride Channel on Youtube just to get new videos on the daily if I feel like watching some boarding

So I was wondering if anyone else ever got on a board and tried their hands and feet at it, or if they just have a small interest in it

Lets talk about it!

Never actually dabbled with it myself. Lots of laughing at friends injuring themselves whilst trying to show off despite having no basic skills with a board though.

But damn, so much time spent on Tony Hawk's Underground...

The MP on that was the hypest.

Tried it out a few times as a kid. Sucked at it though and it was mostly just going down slopes in high speed. Oddly enough there weren't any serious injuries.

This playlist is great for catching some boarding around the world. :)

I did when I was younger. I was always terrified of twisting an ankle though so I stopped. Saw that happen to my brothers too many times.

I spent more time skating on this though.

I don't have the coordination for it.

But I liked the old Tony Hawk Pro Skater games and SKATE.

If I got on a board now I'd basically have to relearn everything. I'd be TERRIBLE. God.

You will also think "What if I break a leg or an arm?". Something you never did as a kid. :P

Aye. And now have to account for security, police, and other such authority figures if I'm not at a skate park.

If you watch the playlist I linked earlier, those guys get stopped by the authorities so many times its nuts. hahaha

No, but I had one.  Hell, everyone did back then.

Also, I had pegs on my bike.  All they were ever used for was to carry an extra person.

Speaking about boarding in case anyone's interested, rumor is a new Tony Hawk's boarding game is being developed and may be released later this year.

Vids like this make me think I can get away with simple tricks as long as ale is somewhere nearby, even if I haven't had any.

I feel like I should play Skate 3.

For nothing to do with skating.

Nope.

Get off my lawn you damn punks!

I did play Tony Hawk on the N64 as a kid though and it was admittedly pretty fun.

I used to watch my brother skate a lot back in the day. I could never do it though. I knew I didn't have the body for it. My brother and I used to be into it enough that we would actually watch the X Games. We even had some video on cassette tape about a few skaters.

Obligatory Hip-Hop about skating

I got loads of X Games memories watching them. They're always a good time.

My entire experience with skateboarding is playing a lot of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 and 4 as a kid, and only really trying it out IRL a little bit but not getting into it that much.

Awesome soundtracks on those games, too.
