This topic is a twist of the "worst death" question. Which NPC or companion/advisor would your Inquisitor/Warden/Hawke (heck, admit it: you the player) happily murder knife (or at least beat senseless) if they could? Why?

It's been awhile since I've played DAO and DA2 so I probably don't have many to offer from those. Here they are in no particular order. (Sorry in advance for all the name misspellings.)

1. Isolde. I swear, the moment she asks, "Who is this woman, Tegaaaaaaaaaaahn," I wanted to off her. To borrow from Blackwall, "Only the Warden who's about to save the effing world, your arldom, your idiotic husband and your whiny kid as well as fix the mess you made of everything, you rude waste of skin." Seriously. I wish she could have been tried for her crime. I understand she didn't want to lose her kid to the Circle, but she's the person I blame for all the death at Redcliff.

^^^ Her.

She's the only one who sets me on edge. Maybe it's the actress' tone of voice plus the fake French accent.

But also I have to ask - and I apologize for veering this slightly off topic - did Isolde sleep with Jowan? That's what the blacksmith in Redcliffe told my warden. He said he heard it from his daughter who worked at the castle. Is this true?

The Inquisitor. And Cullen. And The Iron Bull, now that I think about it. Solas too... Huh, didn't expect that.

Vivienne, for being a self-centered arrogant idiot.  "We need to restore the Circle".  She never even really lived in the Circle.  I saw how Templars treat Circle mages in Origins, and I would happily wnd Vivienne's life to keep that from ever happening again.

It's worrying how many character people want to murder knife... Though not half as worrying as the reasons for wanting to murder knife.

That being said, Goldanna probably deserved it. And Anders, definitely Anders. Thank you for that option!

No one who doesn't fall in combat anyways.

I don't like to carry as much hatred with me. It makes my motions look less dashing & elegant.

I never feel the urge to murder anyone in DA....well....maybe Howe.

Loghain too I guess, but after reading Stolen Throne that quickly dissipated.

Threnn as far as NPCs go, I'd send her to be with the person she admired so much.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. Honestly, on some level, I'm glad I didn't have the murder knife, as the Inquisition's ranks would get depleted rather quickly; Vivienne, Sera, Solas, Dorian, Threnn...

I'm not counting the people I actually did kill.. though there are plenty that I would have liked to kill much earlier than I was allowed to.

My DA:O warden - because allowing the blight to spread seems like the only option I will ever get to kill off the Qun

Sten from DA:O - Which is sad.. because I really liked him, but the Qun needs to die

Tallis - I want the list with the spies...

Sera - Nobody kills the people I talk with.. atleast not untill the conversation is over

Vivienne - You have blocked me from going to that balcony for the last time... I will throw you off of it if you do not move....

Cullen - I remember how you acted in DA:O and DA2... it's too late to try and confuse me by wearing Alistairs' hair.

DAO - Duncan, I didn't really miss him all that much when he died. Alistair might like him, but I don't.

DA2 - Anders, but I killed him anyway. So I guess Petrice.

DAI - I was tempted to put Sera or Vivienne, but began to like those two. I guess Bianca, she threatens me when its her own damn fault for starting it in the first place.

I don't want to murder knife.. I want a good fight with Iron Bull. He deserves that at least.. even if I despise the character. Sten and Arishok got duels.. so should he. Instead I have to choose between rejecting his recruitment or putting up with him. Both suck. Nothing dramatic in that.

I'd murder-knife the dumb-ass merchant in the HInterlands who says, "It's good to have commerce restored," every time you approach his stall.

I restored commerce months ago, you idiot. This is the twelfth time I've been here. Shut up! You don't even update your stock.

Myself? I would not murder knife any of them. Buuuut, a few of my characters would.

Female Dalish elf Warden would murder knife Duncan/Alistair, and pretty much anyone who wasn't an elf. Even the qunari, after she learns about them.

Every other character that would murder knife someone, would not have a specific person in mind. Like, all 3 of my Wardens that murder knifed the deserter at Ostagar, wouldn't kill him, specifically, it just so happened that they murder knifed him.

Hmmm, perhaps I should have titled this, "Which companion/NPC would you like to punch?" instead. I'm for that for the less violent among us. Punching would do for people you don't out-and-out despise. (Really, I despise so few. Isolde. Bianca [thanks for reminding me about her] and sadly Anders. I would have loved to pummel him back into sense. Much better than the choice I was left with.)

I think it's messed up that people fantasize about these things and/or answer this question seriously.

But as for characters I dislike, there's no-one that immediately springs to mind. Plenty I have conflicting ideals with and don't get along with, but none I have the urge to physically beat or kill. The very act of getting emotionally invested is them exerting power over you, anyway, and perpetuating hate that likely had a part in making that character the way they are now, ironically.

Anyway, not keen on Blackwall's pity party.
