Wait, you want to remove dodging from the game because you find it useless? Am I reading that correctly?

That's how it reads. The rest of the thread reads as (1) make it more like DA:I and (2) Biovar should empower me to be extremely precious about how I play the game.

No not the dodging, but the combat roll from hard cover to hard cover. Or the "thing" the computer thinks I want to do whenever I'm trying to break cover and run.

You know it's quite difficult to pull back stuff going down the gravity well?

Nobody would be kicked in a preexisting game on those reasons. It wouldn't be biotic vs tech, it'd be on a kit by kit basis, and no one could be kicked after joining. They couldn't switch to an excluded kit, but if you exclude their kit after they join, they stay.

I still say no, mainly because it goes against the coop basis of the game. Coop means cooperation, not flat out telling someone what they can and can't do. It's bad enough when the developers do it, extending that to the player base just makes it worse. Also it breeds ignorance. If someone plays a Volus, and has trouble surviving and deems the character crap and doesn't want anyone else bringing the team down by playing one, you ban them. Then you never get to see someone play the Volus correctly and allow you to grow as a player. There were plenty of characters and guns I thought were terrible until I saw someone wreck the joint with them and it changed my view of the character or weapon. If there's one thing I've learned from this game it's that every single character is viable on all difficulties, it's the player behind the character that makes them bad or not.

I wouldn't just want things for hosts either. For people searching, I'd want something that lets people exclude results in pug search filters. For example, "Platinum, NOT Giant, NOT Geth" for someone who doesn't want to do Firebase Giant and doesn't want to fight Geth.

I did mention this is my original post, and do think this idea has merit. I do think this is very different from defining what character you're allowed to play. Also I'd like to be able to be able to choose to not be put into games in progress. The whole search for Cerberus and keep getting put into the same Giant/Reaper game in progress gets pretty old pretty quick.

The biggest thing I want to see as far as character kits and gameplay mechanics are concerned is playable Rachni, and Elcor as well as asymmetrical gameplay. Don't limit the kits to humanoid skeletons that have to wield a gun even if they have a giant hammer or sword. I want to skitter around the battlefield as a Rachni Brood Warrior, approaching combat in a completely different way compared to a standard human soldier.

Look to the game EVOLVE for inspiration, the monster plays completely different than the hunters, with different gameplay mechanics involved in traversal as well as combat. Take the asymmetrical concepts from that game and apply it to a co-op RPG/TPS; it shouldn't be too hard, especially since co-operative gameplay is a heck of a lot easier to balance than competitive.

^ Maybe ME4 should also have handicap scanner. Reduces visibility by 80%, increases motion blur & screen shake by 75%, and increases swarmer auto-aim aim priority by 90%.

But I'm sure BioWare already has it in their alpha build & testing it as we speak. Those masochists.

PvP,  so anti-PvP noobs gonna whine like little girls. Just like back in 2012, when story mode weirdos (currently those guys from ME:A forums)  were whining that ME3 has a multiplayer.

Region based dedicated servers for MP games instead of P2P connections between players so that way hosts/hostesses who keeps running titborrents while hosting won't turn Mass Effect 4 into Lag Effect 4 for others.

now there is an idea, if player could pick any race and make it custom (so you pick any 3 offensive powers)  it would be quite fun like make krogan with tactical cloak or volus with a biotic hammer, but that would be more for banter

ALSO i know it would make game bit repetitive maybe because people will make similar loadouts which are very op

Yes, I do think a power free-for-all would harm game balance.  Think that lobbies full of Harrier TGIs are tedious?  Wait until you see a lobby full of characters all packing Tactical Cloak, Adrenaline Rush and Cluster Grenades.

An a-la-carte power system might work if some limitations were imposed:

  • keep the class system
  • have a small pool of class-specific powers, of which you must choose one and only one.  For example, Soldiers must choose either Adrenaline Rush or Marksman; Vanguards must choose Charge or racial equivalent; Sentinels must choose Tech Armour or racial equivalent.
  • have restrictions on the other powers; for example, Soldiers must choose one grenade power and one tech or combat power; Sentinels must choose at least one biotic power; Adepts may not choose tech powers.

What do expect when you live on the other side of the globe... Also, do you play any classes other than Infiltrators with the BW? Seems like that would get boring.

that's a really good compromise which would make people happy with the choice and not make anyone too op especially when someone doesn't like one of the options, and with class system if you could pick any race this would increase amount of possible characters a lot and allow for more diverse play styles like asari engineer would be interesting or krogan infiltrators etc (although chances of this happening are very low, if not in negative region xD)

lad point for you sir

Do you host games while downloading pron or doing some other crap? Seems like that would make the game frustrating for most of the players unfortunate to join your lobby.

I want to be able to remap my powers. There's some Batarian whose Blade Armor is 2 instead of 1 and I just spend the whole match turning it on and off. Is it the Vanguard? Gah.

OK, mine wish list for MP

1) "Omnigel converter" (similar to ME1) to be able to convert crap or good ammo or equipment into something useful (at some loss of cause). I would happily trade 5 boxes of explosive or cryo or disruptor ammo into one box of AP ammo, or 5 sniper rife amplifiers into one shotgun amplifier.

2) Appearance customization - It would be cool to be able seeing all the shining ribbons and insignia on the character. Like so and so number of golden headshot medals will give you golden headshot insignia. However, insignia, earned on bronze difficulty will not show on higher difficulties.

3) I fully support some possibility of customization for abilities, with limitations of cause. Say, you can change just single power, from the limited pool, available for the class (and maybe race). Make it ultra rare card. Add "weight" factor - like you have just certain power capacity, so than sometimes you have to trade two "light" powers for one "heavy" - there are the ways to make it work. Alternatively, place more thought into character development, because now some characters are no fun (at least for me). Now, when I think about it, I would change just Justicar - to be able casting BE at a distance on all units, and not just a lifted ones (like replace Pull with Throw or Singularity or make Pull priming all targets).

Also Asari Vanguard - for her Stasis just make no sense, and therefore she is 6-0-6-6-6 always for me. However, if we could replace Stasis with Warp for her, that would be entirely different story, making 6-6-6-4-4 very interesting.

4) Blood textures on the walls and uniforms of CQC characters would be cool as well.

It's funny, that kind of lag would have encouraged me to actually do the objectives. Especially, y'know, with a Cloak and all....  :P

The main thing I hope for in me4 mp is a full dedicated development team. Me3 mp had like 10 people supporting it or something like that, I can't imagine how good it could have been with a full team supporting it.

Other than bug fixes and balancing though just give me a female quarian infiltrator and a javelin and I'll be satisfied.

Nopes not for me. I want the game to fail when it's lagging like that. Makes me almost wish for friendly fire in game so that I can try and force that laggy host offgame.

Most of the games are OK with little to no lag at all. I am used to playing with a bit high ping but that kind of lag I can't tolerate.

I know I'm tired of this auto-detect-because-you-exist BS.  Enemy AI should have to actually notice you (or you reveal your position, more likely) before you draw aggro.

Stealth should be a highly useful/viable tactic.  And I'm totally willing to ditch the current MP barrage of hellfire upon enemy spawns as the primary means of making in-game "progress".

In fact I'd rather see in-game progress be based entirely on team objectives.  These current waves based on a constant Yakety Sax run-around of spawning enemies, ending only when you make a sufficient amount stop existing, can go pound sand.

Bud halen that would be fun idea, and if shot was made in stealth mod you should do bit more extra damage as well if that was a thing, imagine cool ambushes you could set up with other players like loads of proximity mines and drones/turrets then BOOM loads of gun fire as soon as they trigger those (since they wouldnt be able to spot you if they stepped on a mine logically uless you were in their line of sight)

You expressed a wish for a larger dev team. But the bigger the team, the less likely they are to produce something amazing, basically.

Having a big team does not automatically mean that a game will be bad, ME3 MP extremely suffered from not having enough people working on it. Logistically if you want me4 multiplayer to be bigger, have more content, more bug fixes and more support than me3's then it will need a bigger team.
