Templars are non-wardens.

Templars are controlled through red lyrium which is connected to the Blight

No doubt there are some rebel mages that willingly aided the Venatori just as there are likely some lower level templars who would willingly aid corypheus, but the majority of the side you didn't help are brainwashed into becoming corypheus' army.

It was the higher ranking Templars who corrupted them. People like Denam and Lucius fed the Templars red lyrium corrupting them from the top down.

Where is this from?

No proof of brainwash.

Also you should read the note on the previous page although admittedly it isn't confirmed.

Just going to add some more comments:

When Dorian arrives during In Your Heart Shall Burn (Templar) he states that the rebel Mages are under the command of the Venatori in service to the a Elder One. Seems to imply that they were brainwashed. Then he goes on to say that there was no reasoning with the mages at Redcliffe and that the Elder One takes what he wants. Doesn't really suggest willing mage recruits.

a conversation with Iron Bull actually.

Iron Bull: I guess the Vints will be pissed with you after warning everyone at Haven.
Dorian: Not that my warning did much good.
Iron Bull: Didn't see any rebel mages coming to do it.
Dorian: There is that. The ones who didn't join the Venatori either ran off or were killed.
Iron Bull: Ah, see? Good on you. Way to join the underdogs.
Dorian: I'm thrilled, really.

No proof of brainwash.

You still honestly believe that given the evidence supporting the brainwashing?

Again, I never said "the mages werent brainwashed", all I said is there is no proof they were.
And I dont believe they said "hey guy lets join the Darkspawn magister!", I believe Corypheus give them two choices, to join or to die, he killed the ones who didnt and the rest fell in line.
