i just bought a copy of motb from amazon, very legit and came in the original plastic covering.  so i go to type in my cd key and it says that "The CD key you have entered is invalid". the copy i bought is very legit.  like i said it came in the original plastic including the inner plastic parts (one which says "SECURITY DEVICE ENCLOSED") that tape the cd case shut.  the cd key it printed nicely on the inside of the manual.

i double and triple and quadruple checked the cd key to make sure i entered it right and i did.  so i know this is kind of an old game, could that be part of the problem?  just beat the original nwn2 for the first time ... one of the most awesome rpgs i've ever played ... hoping the expansion is half as good ....

okay, actually was just me being dyxlexic.  switched a Y and a T.

however, now i'm having the same problem with soz installation.  i thought that maybe installing soz would enable the game's auto-patching to work, so i don't have to spend several days manually patching it (esp. when i don't know how to manually patch ... have to read through a bunch of stuff)

is there a history of soz cd keys not working?   am working on this and the patching issue

there is a 6 that looks like a lower case b, could be the problem, but there are no lower case letters allowed for the cd key

edit:  checked w/ my dad, and he pointed out that what i thought were 6s were actually capital Gs ... so got that working.  still have yet to see if soz installation enables the auto-patching system to work

edit 2: in case anyone else has this problem, installing soz seems to have gotten the auto-patching system working too

edit final:  auto-patch worked for awhile but then got stuck again at 1.20, where the final one is supposed to be 1.23?  not so hard to do manually ... i originally thought it went up to 1.70 but that was for something else
