Why not? Because dwarves can only be merchants and Carta thugs? I'm sure if a Orlesian dwarf played his cards right, he could had rose up in the military ranks.

Dagna has broken the stereotype for dwarves with interest in magic, and Harding to a certain degree, being in charge of the scouts.

I just didn't like any of the listed characters so would prefer not to have more characters like them. 

Why, what did you think was the reason was? 

 

Nothing complicated. Just that since you said "characters like these" I interpreted it as being a quality that all these characters share that you dislike. I was inclined to assume that it was their lascivious reputations you were referring to.

Next dwarf companion i want is a female rock-knocker warrior from kal-sharok that is serious and has trust issues that we slowly break thru.

I would love to see a Rock-Knocker.  Male or female.  Doesn't matter to me.  I also suspect that Harding isn't done yet, so I'd not be surprised to see her show up again. 

 

To the OP, I'm okay with a 'liberated' dwarf.  I just hope that they don't just make him/her a caricature like Oghren.  He was, frankly, a pretty poorly conceptualized "typical dwarf stereotype" type of character.  Sigrun and Varric, in my opinion, are more compelling.

Rock-Knocker is the kal-sharok version of legion of the dead. Only they don't feel the same way about the aspect of a glorious death the legion seem to have.

I was hoping for Qunari mage companion. Since we will probably be in Tevinter for the next game, it has the most potential for story telling.

"Non-traditional" doesn't quite describe the quality I'm linking between character's here...

 

I'm talking about what I personally would call a sort of hyper-sexuality. I've never encountered anything about Varric to really call him by that term, beyond the comments made by Aveline about him at the Blooming Rose.

 

Zevran and Isabela are both characters who believe in a lot of sexual freedom. They both present a persona that avoids being tied down to one person at first. 

 

Bull isn't exactly the same, in that I'm not aware of any comments he makes about determinedly avoiding monogamy, but he does become very sexually active the minute he gets to Haven. There's a pattern here, intentional or not, and Varric just doesn't fit into it.

But I'm totally down with a freaky adventurous dwarf.

He has to be a Boisterous Bruiser type. Tackling Abominations and punching bears and holding onto a dragon's tail while it's trying to take off.

Yes. Absolutely, very definitely Tal Vashoth.

 

We've had two companions who were actual pro-Qun Qunari...We should get a Tal Vashoth who is extremely pleased with not being a part of  the Qun. 

 

She should also have a very gentle sort of personality. I have a character concept.
