It kind of works that way in universe too. Not all wardens have their own armour to begin with (I doubt that a cutpurse would own one for example) so it makes sense to have a bunch of identical outfits made for prospective wardens.

Many wardens would have their own equipment, however - the order likes to recruit skilled warriors, such as the champions of tourneys - and it'd be easier for them to keep using it than to fit them out for another piece of armour.

And you'd expect them to utilise hand-me-downs and stuff too. We're not in an era of mass production here, and indeed Wardens aren't really common enough for there to be much advantage to buying in a job lot.

I do like the Grey Warden outfits, however my only complaint is that Stroud/Alistair/Loghain seem to being wearing the Rogue warden outfit when they are listed as Warriors in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

They should've had a unique armor style imo

Yep, realistically uniforms only make sense if wardens get compensated a lot for what they do during the blight.

Most knights in medieval times were either rich and could sustain themselves due to the lands and money they had, or otherwise were ****** poor barely able to sustain a horse.

I preferred their armour design in DA2, that was just gorgeous. I liked the silver/blue checked pattern, long tails on the mage and warrior armour, long gloves and boots. Though their uniform in DAI is good too, it's just different.

Maybe they should have worn this instead. Can't believe the Devs messed that one up.

Sadly, DAI had done away with plate/massive armor in favour of stylized chain armor.

I do like the idea of certain Wardens wearing personalized Warden gear. Like for example, a small commando-like group of the most skilled Wardens in the Order who have their own preference when it comes to what they wear. Like say, a Warden whose armor is adorned with small Darkspawn "trophies" to show off their achievements in Darkspawn slaying.

course going commando in armor is probably not advisble

It's distinguishable but a bit on the bright side.

Apart from the warrior design, I think they have too much blue and don't look enough like armor. Also I wish we had Duncans armor.

I think it makes a lot of sense to have standard uniforms. The alternative is DAOs "I'm a Warden" with no proof whatsoever and everyone being OK with that.

Apparently most people with a brain don't need a proof. Grey Wardens have a quality about them, just like Darkspawn, as is evident from the blog post ':A Different Kind of Darkspawn". Their very gaze feels different than that of regular people. I'm guessing the taint in their blood activates some kind of sixth sense in those who don't have it.

DA:O's heavy armors were way oversized. DA:I generally speaking was much better with the proportions.

Heavy armours were just fine in DAO. It was the massive armours that were oversized. And IMO that's fine because massive armours were the top tier armours with maximum protection that supposedly made you a tank at your level. I for one simply loved the design and the look of the massive armours. Couple those with the DAI style closed winged helmets and you have a winner.

the real question is why doesn't the seekers have there own armor or even the promisers. its like cassandra grabbed the last seeker uniform before she split.

This would've been a good Warrior style for Stroud/Alistair/Loghain

Though it would've been a nice move to give this to Alistair, minus the cape:

This too, I was sorely disappointed to see the Lord Seeker wearing Templar armor

yea it doesn't make sense even in lore because we know the seeker symbol is the eye not the sword. they had armor in da2. i also think the promisers should have had seeker armor without the eye just the flames.

I hope the Promisers show up more in future DLC, they seem interesting

I do and don't like grey warden armour.

On the one hand if the vast majority of the people you recruit are going to be criminals outlaws and misfits then giving them a symbol to stand for and a uniform to be proud of is a must have for esprit decorps.

But on the other hand diversity is probably their most unique trait. Casteless dwarves, princes, mages and pirates and criminals and anyone else who can swing a sword can find their place in the Wardens and it would be really cool to see that each warden's armour tells their life story. Like a Dalish Warden who paints leaf patterns onto their armour or an Orlesian noble who still tries his best to dress beautifully in gold trimmed armour and colourful silks, or a casteless dwarf who wears a face mask all day to keep people from seeing her brand and their brother from the Legion of the Dead who's been in the order all of a month and wears as many darkspawn trophies as a veteran.

ummm... Stroud/Loghain/Alistair armor IS unique. it's got the high rise collar from the mage armor and doesn't have the plated knees that the rogue armor has, there could be more those are 2 differences off the top of my head.

i'm amazed apparently nobody actually paid attention.

It's still a rehash of the rogue design and doesn't feel like a warrior outfit for the Wardens

One of the best armours in the game like the blue design. The warrior warden armour is a top 3 set for me in Da2 and Dai.

How could you hate this

The shiny on metal is a bit overkill across the board, you just see it more in Warden armor because it's one of the only one that's mostly metallic.

Other than that I like it a lot, it looks fantasy-ish without going overboard and the shoulders aren't too big either. Not sure exactly wher the Wardens get the money to field their troops with quality steel, but I suppose they get donations or somesuch, and many of them are in simpler dyed leather.

I really like the Warden armor and it was mentioned earlier that it is completely reasonable to see Orliasian Wardens wearing matching armor. It would have also been nice to see some more personal armors on some of them. When it comes to the Seekers I actually think them wearing Templar armor is appropriate with the path they took. I feel like it kind of fits to the whole abandonment of who they are theme as well. It would have been great if some dialogue was thrown in about it, but I could say that about a lot of things.
