The drop in frames is kind of outrageous and really random, will the devs ever consider fixing it? I have a feeling it could be a bug of some sort in the area. The reason I say this is because AC Unity had similar issues and they were addressed via a patch.

EDIT: I'm running GTX 970s on SLI and have put all the settings on Low to show exactly what I mean. Other aras I keep getting 60 fps. In the image I'm getting around 50. Something's up.

I've never had this issue. What platform are you on? If PC, what are your specs? Is it all Redcliffe?

I've had the same issue as a pc user. Though I wouldn't call it lag, but there are definite frame rate drops when I'm there. There's also always grass growing on the roofs of the buildings there for some reason.

Not seen or heard of this issue.

Specifying platform / circumstances would be helpful...

Never at this location; I actually ran into some issue on the PS4 at Haven - not at first, but during the 2nd half of Haven (time there), the main character would lag at 3 different spots, on the way to the war table

I just always presumed that there were so many moving parts in town that it was more than my hardware could handle. Sorry, I don't recall the specifics of my machine off the top of my head and I'm on my phone.

Is the grass growing on the roofs a bug? I think that can be a thing in some places in real life (maybe not now days...not sure).

Is anyone have difficulties with redcliffe on the PS4 or XBone? Because I don't with my computer, ONCE I updated my video card. I'm not sure if this is an issue the developer is responsible for. Does anyone have a problem with the system recommendations? Cuz if you meet the system recommendations and there is a problem then yeah I think its the developer that needs to step up but if you have a problem with a zone and you are below recommend settings then its pretty much your responsibility to upgrade.

I'm actually a PC player and my specs will be below:

GTX 970

Windows 7 64-bit

16GB RAM

i5 4670k

I'm running everything on Ultra or more plus 2xMSAA, I recently overclocked to avoid this issue and I actually got some frames back which was an amazing feeling. I currently sit at around 45-60 around there, the drop in 15 frames doesn't make sense to me and is usually prevalent in the centre of the village. Getting such a large drop makes me think that it is an issue from the village itself.

There's something real wrong with your PC, my friend is playing with an i5 4440 and a GTX 970 and the game stills 60 Frames all the time at  Ultra settings, but he doesn't use MSAA, on Redcliffe his frames always dropped from 60 to 35, when he turned off the MSAA and the set the Tessellation to High the frames returned to 60.

My PC had something like it, in Redcliffe my frames dropped from 60 to 58, my solution was to disable Origin overlay and any other programs while I was playing, like Raptr and etc.

Drop your tesellation to High. Check the OP of the PC thread started by Verrenus. There is virtually no visual difference between High and Ultra for tesellation in the game. The FPS saved, however, are very noticable.

Honestly, you should just give the thread a look regardless. Lots of great tweaks to make the game run/look better.

I've only had lag issues in one place and that's running up the steps in Haven right by the merch. I'm on xbox one. I've never had lag issues anywhere else.

Monitor your GPU usage and power with MSI Afterburner, make sure there's not a bottleneck somewhere. It's also worth mentioning that Windows 8.1 runs DA:I better than Windows 7, so that's also an option to consider.

It's the most demanding location for my PC installation. It's where I decided to turn off tessellation, I believe, because the hitching slow turning was making me ill.

I had some lag on my very first playthrough but after disabling the 'Origin in game', the issue has been gone for good ever since. No lag at all anywhere. Same goes for my friend who did the same thing. I have Windows 7 64-bit, as well, and it runs DAI perfectly.

Yeah we have a program called  Grand Design here in the UK and quite often they go for a grass roof when designing eco-friendly houses.

I never had any lag problems anywhere in the game on both playthroughs on my PS4. It might be a random glitch.

You don't get a slight pause walking up the steps in Haven?
