Not really a fan of the javelin. In fact, I dislike all the single shot weapons because YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO RUN OR USE COVER OR DO ANYTHING! YOU HAVE TO RELOAD FIRST!

 

I'm going to have to mess with the key bindings because I despise this so much.

Exactly. Had the opportunity to drop in as a GI in pug game on Dagger Gold vs geth where there were three other infiltrators. Two were using Javelins and one was using Black Widow X. Recorded the whole game and uploaded it on YT. It's processing and I will post the link when it's done.

I Love The Black Widow on the QFI ...High Velocity Barrel /Drill or AP rounds...I usually score an Atlas kill within 5 shots..But GI with his Geth weapon Buffs in addition to weapon damage buffs and just so happens Javelin is a Geth Weapon....Nothing has a higher damage output..In terms or preferred use..I go with Black Widow...(though I never get tired of the hate mail I get and being called a cheater everytime I use the Javelin cuz of re-load cancelling and PUGS just dont know bout Dat')

My somewhat educated guess is that all things being equal.  Someone who prefers the BW, is at the top level of skill will do slightly worse than someone at the same skill level with the preferred option of the Javelin.

 

In the end, it seriously comes down to what you prefer.  

 

Despite the BW and Javelin both being superior to my Valiant, I will do FAR better with the valiant every time.  Like wise I will do better far better with a Javelin than I will the BW.  I simply dislike that SR.  

 

You shouldn't judge these things in a vacuum, though if you do at least you may be able to come out with a clear winner.  In which case I believe to be the Javelin.  Expert aim, reload cancelling, shot penetration and the "racial" bonus from a GI makes this the "best" sniper, although I am not convinced you could or even should call it the best.

The BW is also a better gun when there's a lot of screen shake because the projectiles have no fire delay. When I have people using the Scorpion or mucking about with shockwave spam, I don't want to be using the Javelin.

Yeah tried to geth hop to avoid them but thanks to the host from the moon I couldn't avoid them. Also those double tripple taps from rocket troopers wont even leave a juggernaut standing. Anyways fun starts 3-4 minutes into the game

my question is why were those geth friendly firing at you?

Another game answered this question. I believe that was COD Modern Warfare. During loading screen there were some quotes etc one of them was

 

"Friendly fire isn't"

That host who was sporting a Javelin along with GPR apparently had his game modded for more ammo capacity. It's in the description of video as well

I haven't used that shitty tin can in well over a year, and I'm proud of that!





However, the comparison between the BW and the Javelin with the Wraith and the High Lord is still an ill one.

Unless I really suck and hate the BW.  I will, in every situation do better with the Javelin.  I am not saying this is empyrical evidence that the Javelin is better, but simply it doesn't matter one iota which one you or anyone think is better when I am the one who is playing and vice versa.  I seriously suck with Blackwidow, I don't know why.  I don't like it's fire rate, I hate the recoil etc etc.  I much prefer the valiant.  But if I want a heavy hitting sniper rifle I prefer Javelin over BW, only because of it's ridiculous penetration.  But at this point it's a change in play style when I switch between weapons.  

 

When everything goes to crap I find my SI with Valiant works just fine.  I don't play a lot of plat mind you but when I do this is my go to kit.
