Periodically, I get crazy jagged textures jutting out from Shepard, as well as other characters and environments. Sometimes, simply reloading a savegame helps, but other times I'm forced to quit the game entirely and reboot it in order to fix the problem. Anybody else have this issue? I have an ATI Radeon 4670, AMD Phenom Quad-core, 7 GB of RAM, and Win7 64-bit. Thanks for any help!
Crazy Textures in ME2 (and ME1 as well...)

I've also updated my video card drivers...still no luck.

sounds like your graphic card is overheating

might be...i keep it pretty ventilated though and had to get a new power supply to handle it.

Gagged spikes of geometry are a sure sign of GPU over heating or even dieing. As in the damage is done, such that even if cool now, it's damaged.
A test would be to try underclocking your GPU by 100MHz just to see if the problems go away.

ok i'll give that a try. ME1 and ME2 are the only games this seems to happen in, though. Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat Source, among others have no problem.

My own post on a similar issue got buried last night, but I am experiencing a very similar problem, there is texture tearing occuring in my game, where suddenly jolts of black, or jagged textures to appear across the environment or from a character, but then quickly go back to normal. This happens frequently enough to be really annoying, but at other times everything is completely smooth. The game itself is entirely stable, nothing actually crashes, but this issue is really distracting during certain dialogue scenes, or just combat in general.

yeah that's the same exact problem i'm having. have you had this issue in any other game besides ME?

I had that issue with Dragon Age, and i think it was caused by overheating hehe

Not that I am aware of, Dragon Age works just fine for me for another recent Bioware title.
I'm running an E8400 Processor, Radeon 4850HD video card, Windows XP, but not many people seem to be experiencing the same issue.

well i'm booting up RivaTuner right now to see if this underclocking business will work. already tried ATITool but for some reason it had trouble finding my drivers...which i just updated yesterday in an attempt to fix this problem.

This really doesn't seem like an overheating or graphics card 'dying' issue, from what people have been suggesting though, the game works perfectly fine, and my system is just fine, it's just this weird issue.

The clipping and graphics issues are common and aren't due to a failure in your card. Unfortunately.
Much like ME 1, ME 2 just has some wonky graphics that freak out every once in awhile. My best advice is to sit back, enjoy all the positives of the game...and when you can see right through someone's head, pretend they're wearing a prototype cloaking device. :-)

There's no question that the game is still playable, but if anyone else can testify to having these issues as well, that would be great, would really complete the game experience if there was a fix for it.

rivatuner seems to have done the job. i underclocked my card just a bit and after playing for an hour, i haven't had any of those issues anymore. just last night, they were popping up every 5 minutes. looks like it did the trick!
