Play a krogan sentinel with claymore and striker rifle. Very durable and easy. You'd have to try hard to do badly this way.
Bind the seventh quickslot to left shift in order to reload cancel the claymore.

Did crushsuit get banned or something?
I dont know either.
I can't believe I'm saying this but...
I actually kinda miss the Ol' Fart.
Hello! I have recently bought Mass Effect 3, because I never bought it when it came out, dunno why really. But I have got into the multiplayer quite a bit. I have reached the issue of I have no idea what I'm doing. So first off, I 'main' a Phoenix vanguard (or whatever the ex-Cerberus guy is called) and I use the wraith, focussing on powers over gunfire. Is this viable and 'alright', or have I just done the worst thing you have ever heard of?
Secondly, what is some good classes and weapons to 'get gud' with, because I have no idea whatsoever. (though I understand this question is open to argument with different peoples preference and such).
Plz halp, I need to look cool so I can show my face around this forum without looking like a scrub.
I'll go ahead and throw this suggestion out:
Try the Human Sentinel. It is a very powerful and tanky kit that doesn't require much of a weapon to be effective.
If you like the Wraith, you could build to that. Focus on the defensive and damage reducing effects of Tech Armour. Put maximum points into passives, picking weapon damage, and perhaps only put three points into Throw. Maximize Warp, concentrating on deBuffs, the options that increase subsequent damage to the target. For added survivability, you could put five points into fitness.
All of that can be played around with, to taste, of course, and assumes that your Human Sentinel is at level 20.
Conversely, you could go with a low-weight weapon (pistols and SMGs are generally good bets here) and concentrate on powers:
In that case, put maximum points into Throw and Warp, making sure to take the bonuses for Combo Damage. Maximize the Power Bonuses on Tech Armour (it will still provide excellent defense) including the one that reduces its power refresh penalty. Select the power/force damage bonuses in your passives, and put maybe three points into Fitness (Again, you can play around with all this to taste, and it assumes a level 20 HS.)
Against tougher targets, hit them with Warp, and follow it up with Throw, which will cause a large combo explosion that can destroy many nearby targets. Against weaker, unshielded targets, you can just spam Throw and your weapon to finish them off quickly.
In the second case, a cyclonic is good (you actually won't benefit much from Power Damage bonuses, as counter-intuitive as that is) and a priming ammo is an excellent choice. Incendiary is probably the best choice. Shoot the target, and then use throw to set off a Fire Explosion (this is faster than the Warp/Throw combination mentioned above, though less powerful.)
Whatever you decide to play, have fun! ![]()
Practice.
You chose a good kit and weapon. I suck with the PV myself, but love his less crazy brother. Play whatever you like. I do suggest finding one kit from each class that you click with, so if you fall into a 3 of a kind lobby (e.g., all tech) you can make 4 of a kind instead of being odd (biotic) man out. Synergizing with your team can bring great results. When in doubt or in a mixed lobby, Turian Sentinel is pretty much welcome to any party. If an enemy is blue, warp it, if any other color, overload. Shoot during cooldown.
Adept: HA and vanilla Asari are great. Since you already like Smash, try Phoenix Adept.
Soldier: TSol is good even with less powerful guns like the Tempest SMG.
Sentinel: TSent, HSent, Paladin are all fun.
Engineer: HE, GE are no fuss and have useful pets.
Infiltrator: MQI, AHI are good for tech and biotic teams, respectively.
Vanguard: Asari and Krogan are pretty user friendly.
I'd save the odder kits (volus, vorcha, Talon, Collector) for a little later.
Finally it's my turn yasss... o.oYou can add me if you want and believe (foolishly) that I match that description. Or even just if you feel like it. Not playing much nowadays, but you never know...
In all seriousness, I would keep it simple and say to do a few things:
- Play all the kits at least 2-3 times to see which ones you really like
- Figure out which guns you like with said kits
- Practice, practice, practice
- Be a team player
- Do all of the above on whatever difficulty you feel most comfortable on. Gold is probably the best difficulty/fun ratio, but if you aren't comfortable with the game yet, stick with silver for a little while.
Kits I would suggest include Human Adept, Phoenix Adept, Asari Adept, N7 Destroyer, Geth Trooper, Quarian Male Engineer, Human Engineer, Geth Engineer, N7 Paladin, Vorcha Sentinel, Turian Sentinel, Turian Ghost, Asari Huntress, AIU (Sexbot), Salarian Infiltrator.......and every Vanguard in the game as long as you are hosting.

Yeah, seems like there is a pattern here. A lot of those characters I don't have unlocked yet, and I'm missing lots of weapons that I have heard are very good. My lucks been a bit all over the place with this game, because the first character and weapon I unlocked was the AIU and the N7 Valkyrie, but I have barely unlocked anything 'uncommon' and tones of 'rare' stuff.

Depends largely on what packs you're buying. Uncommon items are actually pretty hard to acquire because of different equipment being added to the game. On the other hand, most uncommon stuff isn't that good, so you aren't missing out too much there. Focus on Arsenal Packs if you can afford them, since they don't include character cards. I'm pretty sure that you'll max on weapons most quickly if you use those.
Find one weapon-based class that you're really comfortable with. Use that to pug (pick-up game, i.e. joining random games). My favorites are the Turian Sentinel (good at supporting Engineers and biotics, w/ good shields), and the N7 Destroyer Soldier (who comes from the school of "I don't need luck, I have ammo").
If you're in a lobby for more than just one game, switch to a power-based character that will complement the build of at least one other player in the lobby, whether it's biotics (like the Phoenix Vanguard) or tech. Because there is nothing better than tons of tech and / or biotic explosions.
Well, except Krogan, of course. Nothing better than a Krogan...
Some characters can create their own tech / biotic explosions. Like, put Cryo ammo (or inferno ammo) on a build that has Overload. Or an Engineer that has Snap Freeze & something Incendiary.
Play around, experiment! That's where a lot of the fun is had. Do the best you can. That's all any of us can do.
You can also experiment with different builds using this website: http://kalence.drupa...3-builder#1!!!!
It might actually be a little clearer than the in-game character builder.
Quarian kits are indisputably the best kits in the game. Play them for instant success at everything
The Wraith is a great shotgun. Good damage and pretty accurate. As soon as you get it (I think it's a common?) put on the shredder armor piercing mod. Try to get headshots when you aren't going to die if you miss completely.
Phoenix Vanguard is pretty good too. Lash isn't very good, so I would ignore it and max out the other skills. You're pretty squishy so you need to be careful not to get caught out in the open. Use charge to get your shields back but don't charge a group of enemies away from your teammates or you go squish.
Skill choices:
For Charge, you almost always want Radius and Barrier on any vanguard; I usually prefer Power Synergy too but it's a matter of taste.
For Smash, you probably want Electrical/Force/Armor. Electrical's 50% dot deals 50% of the entire damage of the smash which is a lot more than Biotic's +30% which merely adds 30% of the _base_ damage. And the electrical effect can be detonated too so you're not really giving much up. Your smash also goes right through walls, so if you know something is on the other side (or you have the Geth Scanner gear equipped) you can hump the wall for victory.
In Phoenix Training you'll probably want to take power damage for 4 and 5 and weapon damage for 6, and for Fitness you'll probably want to max out your shields. (There are viable builds with other options, and your heavy melee is actually pretty good, but you're new and you'll probably most benefit from the extra durability. But if you want to fiddle with melee, you can do a cool trick where you start charging your heavy melee midway through your charge so that it goes off with half the normal delay)
Oh yes, one thing that the UI doesn't make very clear - that fourth Gear slot is NOT a single-use item unlike the weapon/armor/ammo mods. It's permanent. So always have something equipped there.

Have not unlocked enough Quarians yet to make an opinion. Quarian Marksman is the hype though, he is super good and fun to play.
Sorry, can't help ypu. I'm retired.
I thought you were just rewired.
I guess I was the only one who thought this was a troll thread. A newb with a Phoenix Smashguard, a Wraith, and comfortable banter in the forums.
It's a great game. Enjoy!
My only tip is, if you ever get frustrated with Phantoms sync killing you, pay close attention too their animation when they stick you, and it won't hurt quite so much anymore.
Some minor tips:
1. If you feel lag, keep a distance to the host to avoid rubberbanding;
2. don't go into cover next to your teammate when under Scion's cannon fire, you'll kill both yourself and your teammate due to splash damage;
3. you may want to use vanguard and melee kits when hosting;
4. Last but most important: If you have manifest problems, or find yourself short on consumables, play on Crashsuit's host.
No your not the only one.I guess I was the only one who thought this was a troll thread. A newb with a Phoenix Smashguard, a Wraith, and comfortable banter in the forums.

Funny thing was I actually opened the Xbox app to see if you was on and it showed you on the XBone. Made me laugh. Only you would issue challenge on Xbox 360 and be on the XBone. Goofy bastard! You're both right.
I would now but I'm saving Thedas....yeah, that's it...
