This. How did they make a Qunari character so boring?

Sten was amazing. The Arishok was amazing. Iron Bull is... basically James from Mass Effect. A generic bruiser with a dull personality, whom the writers tried way too hard to make likeable.

 

 

sten was a devout quanari full of barely contained rage but was secretly a softie who liked cookies and kittens? I've never met any rage filled murders in my life, but I'm guessing none of them are secretly softies who like kittens and cookies...

Just found this picture while looking at Bioware's blog.  It's not the game then, but a design choice.  Ugh, peanut head is actually a nicer way to put it.  He just looks like a roider to me.

 

I'm more distracted by the fact that Bull is Thor in this Avengers parody than the size of his head to his body...

 

(But I do agree that it's a tad out of proportion)

Rob Liefeld cannot be used as a good comparision. Although I would totally believe it if you said he drew Iron Bull.

After seeing the reactions to the elves in DA2 and Qunari in DAI, I've noticed that people simply want them to look similar to humans as opposed to being their own thing.

 

 

I disagree about the Qunari. I think Qunari in DA:I are far more human-looking than their DA2 versions. This guy looks more 'alien' than anything you can make in the DA:I character creator:

 

 

DA:I's Qunari have facial features that are too soft.

I prefer the design the Qunari had in DA2 but I don't really see anything especially wrong with Iron Bull. Yes, his head is a bit small for his body and his pecs  a bit too large but I got used to it pretty quickly. As to his personality, I think he's quite different from Vega, if he's going to be compared to anyone it should probably be Oghren - though Iron Bull is sober more often and much smarter. I can see why those who wanted a more "Qun" Qunari would be disappointed though, because of his spy-lifestyle and personal history he doesn't act much like Sten or the Arishok. Personally I like the Iron Bull much more than either of those two. I hated Sten from the moment I met him (it settled into vague dislike but he still holds the title "most disliked non-villainous DA character") and while the Arishok was ok in the beginning it didn't take long for me to lose interest in him.
