I don't know about everyone else, but I have some experience actually being human. Hence why I like to play them.

I will always play every option at least once, but human is always my last choice. If I could only pick one it would never be human.

I never play human characters, too boring and are usually the most destructive races in the fantasy genre..
I had no choice in DA 2, usually that just makes me lose interest

Why is this so ? I am curious so as to why would someone play as a human in a fantasy game, especially when they are given the choice to play non-humans.
I mean, you are already a human in real life so why would you play as a human in a setting where the fantastical and the imaginary reign supreme ?
I'm always baffled when people bring up this argument. Am I a noble in real life? Am I a mage? Do I come from Ferelden?
What is so inherently greater in playing a pointy eared "human" rather than a regular human?
I like playing as a human noble because it's a very different starting point than the "simple farmboy" many fantasy games give you. Other races are treated as outsiders and looked down upon but I prefer a background that fits in and had a privileged life just because it's a change from the usual.

Personally I find the non human cultures to be far more interesting and unique than the generic, medieval, Catholic stand-in human ones we are a part of. (some of the other human cultures seem more interesting but we only hear about their unique aspects briefly in passing or in codex entries) I also don't identify with someone who is privileged and pampered and accepted everywhere because I feel like an "outsider" in real life and have lead a life of struggle and hardship.

My reasons are vain and foolish. In RPGs I like to role play either as a beautiful woman or a handsome hunk. Qunari and Dwarves tend to be less attractive to my eye. I play Elves in other games and did in DA:O but the anorexic versions in DA2 and DA:I (although much improved over DA2) are less appealing. That leaves me with being human!

So if DA had a world where humans were the outcasts living in forests and elves would be the nobles living in cities you would play as a human right? You wouldn't pick an elf character just because they have pointy ears and are somehow "more fantasy-ish".

Actually i might..
But i doubt we'll ever see it..
Human histories / traditions do not appeal to me in most fantasy games, i like the histories made up for say Dwarves and other Races, for me personally though Dragon Age elves are a very poor cousin to other more established fantasy genres.
I did very much like the Sentinel Elves, but again was shown and gone too fast... Bioware seems obsessed with humans, religion and strange romances..

If it was trendy to hate on elves as its currently trendy to hate on anything related to humans people would do it.

I play a human because I like to play different races. That said, I played a human, currently am playing an elf, and eventually I will play a qunari, then a human again, but I won't be playing a dwarf because I can't bring myself to make characters with big noses, and even though playing my female dual-wield female dwarf rogue Warden was a lot of fun, it's hard to want to play one when I can't romance a dwarf-suitable character (romanced Alistair for the first of 3 times, with Daina Brosca).

Only dwarves should hate on elves. And visa versa.

I don't find the other races interesting enough to warrant a full play-through. Qunari would have been the exception, but alas, we were stuck as a Tal-Vashoth who looks no where near as cool as those from DA2.
Plus, Trevelyan fits the story a lot more nicely that the others in my opinion.

It really helps that the human is a noble.

If we were able to play something more interesting than the whitebread cultural Andrastian of southern Thedas, yes, I would enjoy human PCs more. Say, an Avvar or Chasind. To me it is not the physical characteristics that make dwarves and elves more interesting in DA, but the cultural aspects.

Hopefully when the next Dragon Age game comes out, it will become popular to bash one of the other races.

Story fits better with a human.
They get better armor.
But I've played an elf and qunari too.
Purely a matter of opinion.

Maybe you should calm down a little bit. Humans will always be the race that majority of the players will play, so I don't see why you keep saying that it's popular to bash the humans, when most plays as them.

I will always prefer to play as a human. Just because fantasy creatures exist doesn't mean I have to be them. You might as well ask people why aren't they asking to play Darkspawn since they're not Darkspawn IRL. I'm already short and I hate caves so nope on the dwarves, and elves are overrated in every fantasy genre. At least in DA they're just humans with anorexic bodies and pointy ears. Nothing special there anyway. The only race that interested me beyond who I can romance are the Qunari but then BW dropped the ball and basically made the Qunari IQ a human with a oversized deformed body and horns.

I almost never play the human races. Humans are too normal for me unless I like that particular faction over the others.
I tend to gravitate towards non-human races in fantasy games myself. I find the Dunmer in the Elder Scrolls quite interesting, as opposed to the Imperials. In Dragon Age, I much prefer the non-human races to the Andrastian humans. I also don't find it entertaining to play as an Andrastian human. My favorite Origin was Surana, given the views I could shape about the elves, the mages, the templars, and the Circle in a very personal way, while I was much more interested in Merrill's story arc (given her efforts to end the plight of the People) than I was in Hawke's, which I honestly had little investment in. That hasn't changed with Inquisition, where I don't really care about the human noble or the Circle mage; I prefer playing as a Dalish mage who follows his own gods and has his own cultural and religious views.

Perhaps I will tone down a bit. I just get really tired when this post comes up. People need to just say "I don't like humans" instead of making excuses.
What they might find boring another person might find interesting and have the imagination to play them.
Human hate has been growing for quite a few years in this fandom though. Back during Origins....races were rarely mentioned in discussions. The onset of social media and the need to make everything politically correct has made humans the defacto punching bags
But you're right...I'll tone it down

I play a human because:
I am not called a
Knife-Ear
Grey-One, Horned headed Ox(wo)man
Stone Licker, Nug Humper
While I appreciate Bioware bringing the choice in race back, I for one just view it too weird for the Inquizzy to be anything other then human.
I have never played any other race other human in DA games and that will continue.
Playing other races in DA is just not my cup of tea.
