I am curious what are your favorite class specialization as a whole ? Not just limited to a particular class but as a whole.

My vote would have to go for the Artificer. It is extremely versatile, it does not fundamentally change the way you play but rather adds more on top and it is very cool with its boom-boom flash. It has crowd control, it can benefit the whole party and it literally has an "Oh shite !" ability.

What is yours ?

I like KE because it's medieval Jedi.

I also like Rift Mage because it's focus skill, it's awesome seeing those meteors just raping everyone and of course because of: '' I am your trainer. ''

For Rogue, actually I'm having fun playing Assassin+Bow, but I still like Tempest much more.

Probably the tempest. I really like the idea thematically, I think it's a unique concept, while both a trapper and an assassin have been done before.

I love the versatility of the Knight Enchanter. Melee DPS, ranged DPS, tank, crowd-control, heal/support. It can do it all.

Yeah, the Tempest is a really unique specialization concept. Its like being an offensive Chemical Engineer of some form.

It is probably my second favorite specialization of all the specializations in the game. The third would be Rift Mage.

Tempest all the way.

I love the whole concept, and the abilities they gain are just awesome.

I really hope to see them in future games, novels and comics. Hoping to see a write up on them in the next world of thedas.

An honorable mention goes to the Reaver. Finally their abilities look like draconic blood magic.

Yah, KE is awesome. It is what a mage supposed to be. Tank, DPS, heal and cc it can do everything.

I kind of like Templar too. Too bad the SP version doesn't have the Mage Slayer passive from the MP.

I really liked my archer/artificer playthrough, it made a lot of sense as it was a dwarf character and that build is just so efficient, the screen lit up like a Xmas tree  .

I like the Reaver as well because it's fun (Charge, Ring of Pain, Dragon fury, picking the remains of your ennemies of the trees  )

Anyone who doesn't say Rift Mage either hasn't tried it or is a dirty liar :P

Knight Enchanter is my favorite to play. I really like Rift Mage for story reasons, and it is fun to play as well. So I always struggle picking between the two. I'd give the slight edge to Knight Enchanter as my favorite.

Knight Enchanter.

It truly makes me feel like the "ace" of the group.

Plus, it gives me a good sense of independence. I don't need a tank and I can leave my tank and team mates to take care of the big scary guy while I'm gliding through the air annihilating the back lines.

KE

Because crossing the field in 1 second with Fadestep towards a group of enemies, followed by mind blast and dicing everyone with spirit blade while my barrier recharges feels GOOD.

Reaver. Coming from Mass Effect this is the closest to a Vanguard one gets in Dragon Age without being cheap and cutting out the risks you deal with for the power you gain (looking at you champion and knight enchanter).

I really enjoyed Templar. Knight-Enchanter was fun, too, but I couldn't help but feel overpowered sometimes.

I really should try Reaver then, there have been so many praises of it. I never really play warriors that much in fantasy games but now it looks like I might...

I've only finished 2 playthroughs, so for now, I liked KE better than assassin (will have to do assassin again sometime now that I understand the new combat.)  The thing I liked best about KE was switching back and forth between ranged and melee mid combat.  Where'd that guy come from? Pow! That'll teach you.  I don't think I even bothered taking the heal focus because I never needed to.  Lots of fun.  I'm having a hard time getting into Rift Mage this time.  Your trainer is funny and the firestorm is definitely worth watching, even if it's distracting.  I just haven't found a combo that works well consistently yet.  I'm stumbling across stuff that works slowly, though.  I just figured out what the benefit is to taking the upgrade for the rift mark, for instance.  I may yet learn what the term "edge of cliff" means.

Melee Assassin, my go to.

I prefer relying on skill and cunning, so picking enemies off from Stealth is generally more my thing.

For some weird reason, I have never been into Theodosian Assassins or their organizations like the Antivan Crows.

Don't get me wrong, Assassin is a powerful specialization and all but maybe its because Elder Scrolls totally ruined Assassins for me in an awesome way with Dark Brotherhood, Morag Tong and their interesting quests.

Rift Mage crowd control is just crazy. I like assassins for their killability but I think storywise/lorewise I like the artificer the best. Their wartable mission is so snekky.

Templar.  I have a Paladin fetish.  and I was an Infantryman in the Marines what do you expect? Stereo typical I guess hah.  I also think the spec is good.  Mook Bashing with spell shatter/ Wrath of Heaven, party support with Horn of Valor/ Spell Purge (I know horn isn't exclusive to Templar), class passives (the last sacrifice love it) and good dps make you a very tough to kill good  dpsing sword and board offtank or a high dpsing 2 hander (not as high as Reaver) supporter.  It rocks.  Paladins, ally support, good dps and demon slaying (wish we had mage slayer in SP).

KE I'm afraid. Not the most original choice but combine the storm tree with the KE and the Force is strong with this one.

He also smashes face so that's pretty strong too.

I don't really have "a" favorite. I have favorites, stuff I want to try, and stuff I hate

Favorites (in order of fun): Templar, assassin, champion, KE
Want to try: Reaver, Rift Mage
Hate: Tempest, Artificer, Necromancer

All the mage specializations are really fun to play with, I love all of them. I also love tempest as an archer, machine gun mode.

I'm sorry for the artificier, I hoped for MUCH more. Champion is really boring for my taste, maybe it's too tanky?

Knight Enchanter, but my experience with the other specs is limited to controlling the other party members... however, I prefer playing as a "battlemage" whenever possible in fantasy settings, so I doubt my opinion would change if I made an Inquisitor of another spec.
