Build

This was just something I was doing for fun, to experiment, and I'm actually fairly surprised with how handy it is. Mostly tested on threatening, and likely where this sort of build would stay, but I did have someone switch us up to Peri and I actually felt like I was contributing, went down twice and wiped before zone five, but first down was when PotA slingshoted a shield venatori into my face, and the second was wen our katari and I forget what our fourth was, went into a room and got wasted, and our AW went forward to rambo, hit of PotA and got pincushioned before he could take advantage, leaving me to get pincushioned and slammed from behind.
Overall though I was surprised by the kill streaks I've been getting and how much control you have over your enemies with this build. You main combo is chain lightning followed by Veilstrike, if used quickly when enemies are grouped you can put them all to sleep. It's tempting to do it the other way because of the perk that allows you to do more damage to weakened enemies, but at the same time, your chainlighting will be ready before the weakened status wheres off.
On of the things I was most surprised at was Lightning Bolt, looking at it, it seems very underwhelming, and when you first use it before upgrading, it really is compared to the cost, but as I used it more and combined it with some of the passives, it quickly grew in my perspective. It has two great uses, first is opening move, for example, spot an enemy that is considered a priority and cast it on them as a first strike, despair demons, mage's, assasins, the archer in the middle of a group of archers. If you pick your spot and get an enemy when it has a lot of other enemies nearby you can strip most of its health if not one shot it, as well as knock over all surrounding enemies. The other utility is stopping a single enemy dead in its tracks for a couple seconds, very few enemies are immune to being paralysed, so either its an enemy rushing you, or its something like a RT Knight thats engaging another party member, its pretty amusing watching a knight sit there and twitch as a pair of dwarfs wail on it.
Why no barrier?
To make people gasp in disbeleif.... lol, this and the point is a dps keeper.
Why no static cage?
Cause its at the bottom of the other tree and you have to give up certain passives to get to it, though you can gain other goods ones along the way. One build that could use it is http://da-skills.net...0C1D0,010,111,0though you also give up fade/frost step, which is a great get out of dodge move as well as being able to use aggressively when other stuff is on cooldown or you're out of mana.
This overall is a mana intensive build, but as you get some of the passives you'll find you're seldom out of mana for long, even the expensive lightning bolt can be used quite often. A similar build can also be done on the AW, and he'd be a bit tougher using it as he has easy access to both guardian spirit and the ability that makes him generate barrier for damage dealt.
Fury of the veil is almost a must with this type of build, not so much for proccing veilstrike, but just for high lightning damage, you basic attacks can put enemies to sleep as in the same instant you'll both shock and weaken them.
