Well first of all, thanks to all those who take the time to share their builds and videos, it helps a lot.

Just a request: When you post these builds / videos, why don't you also include your base stats together with the build / weapons etc?

Before I thought it shouldn't matter, as I couldn't imagine anybody spending so much on this game to promote characters more than several times.

Then I started reading >50 promotions etc.. Blew my mind!

So yes, for us mortals not to feel to bad, unable to solo perilous even with an AC, pls post your base stats next to your videos :)

I do not post my stats in my builds because I do my best to make the guides neutral of those. My stats are not that high, but the point remains.

Aside, I will note gear to use if it applies to the build, like my most recent Templar guide mentioning using gear that increases Cunning and Critical Chance because of Flow of Battle.

Otherwise, I have no intention of throwing my stats around in my videos. I prefer making build guides that a beginner can use just as easily as a veteran. It's no challenging that way. :-)

EDIT: I also have a personal distaste of soloing. In my opinion, there is a very large segment of this game dedicated to "soloing". It's called single-player. When I play multiplayer, I want it to be actual multiple players. That is entirely my own opinion. There is nothing wrong with others wanting to challenge themselves with soloing... It's just not for me.

Op, you ask why people dont post their base stats. People have been attacked on this forum for talking about their rank and attributes and the information has been used as cannonfodder against them.

Each successive point into the three promotion attributes is progressively more effective in reducing damage taken, with the final point before 80% cap being almost four times more effective than the first. So yes, people with very high promotions can have pretty broken characters and will continue to become more broken as time goes on. Imo if there is new difficulty levels, they ought to apply a reduction to promotion points into attributes such that the resultant damage reduction of each point is more linear, and possibly even reduce the hp, atk, and crit chance benefits.

One of the major perilous soloers i know doesnt like to brag about his promotions, actually avoids promoting sometimes because he feels he is getting too powerful and perilous no longer being a challenge, and he mostly does solos for his own enjoyment and doesnt go on promotion grindfests like most people.

There's a massive difference between including stats in your build and shoving your leaderboard position down everyone's throats when someone disagrees with you.

I agree with these explanations. Also, I am sure if asked individually, most people are going to tell you want you want to know; they just do not feel like having it hanging out there publicly. (Ha.)

It's sound to me, too. The fact that you cannot view one's kit other than their basic class (which can in most cases be played in at the very least two very different ways) & level is a good thing. For example, it pisses me off when other players judge others based on sheer character information, without having experienced whether they know how to handle themselves or not. If a player of sufficient level joins the group and they opt to kick them for the class they play, that's mostly when I leave as well.

Mortiel - What I had in mind was the people who post "here is my solo perilous guide" videos. I think your guides are indeed more focused on different builds to be tried, so indeed it makes sense not to post base stats.

And for these perilious solo guides, they share everything else (weapons, accessories, etc) so why not base stats?

Anyway these videos are useful with or without stats, so keep them coming people :)

Give us an idea of what stats you're working with so then we can make informed decisions about whether your build is right for us.

I don't grind promotions for a few reasons, but the end result is that I have pretty bare bones promotions, despite the hours I've sunk into the game. Thus I don't have ridiculous cunning or willpower promotions. So if you're relying on those to make your build work, you should at least tell us, because it's at least as important as your equipment, depending on your stats it may even be more so.

My stats? just 2 promotions on each except katari which I never bothered :)

I think what you say is enough, I'm just curious about these solo builds if they went promo crazy or a few promotions only...

I bet they want people to focus more on the solo and less on the stats. If they said they had 200 cunning and willpower, most people would default to --- "Well, who COULDN'T solo perilous with those stats?".

But that is the point. Some builds may not be viable unless you have that high of stats. In which case it is useless to the rest of us.

Exactly! To be fair, I saw one perilous solo the other day, and he accidentally showed his stats after finishing. And it just 2 points higher than mine (1 willpower, 1 cunning). respect!!!

Oh, I meant for solo videos...if someone made a build guide, stats would definitely be useful.

Sorry, I'm too opinionated on soloing in multiplayer. I'll leave you all to your solo thing.

I wouldn't put much stock into either way. Many of the top LB spots are tainted by asterisks anyway. Do people seriously think that noone notices you moving up 4-5 points every few hours? Too self-indulgent to realize their number of games played don't match up to total XP required garner those points/per hr.

OT: Yes, stats are important for build guides and nerf/buff opinion threads, becuase it gives the other players insight as to how difficult/easy it from their own perspective or it allows others to understand what vantage point the author is speaking from. That said... didn't care for soloing in ME3. Don't care for it now. However if people are going do solo vids, then their stats should be included as well.
