I cannot do this puzzle.

 

I've read tons of walkthrus, watched half a dozen Youtube walkthrus, tried doing the puzzle at the same time as watching the Youtube walkthrus pausing after every step.

 

I've wasted an entire week of my precious playtime trying to do this horrible puzzle & failing.

 

I lose my orientation the first time I have to change direction & afterwards I have no idea where I am.

 

I think I'd be better off throwing this game out of the window because I'm just sure there'll be another similar puzzle somewhere in the main quest line & I won't be able to get past that one either.

 

Why? Just why? It's such a beautiful game in so many ways. Why do they have to ruin it with this kind of &%ç*

 

Is there another way into the top part of the map?

Is there a cheat which will get me through it?

I'll even pay someone to come round & do it for me.

Seriously, I'll try anything right now.

It is not mandatory for any important part of the game - there are just some loot and a mosaic piece.

 

You can get to the northern part of Exalted Plains by taking the left fork when leaving the north camp site (before the rift there).

You can get the mosaic piece without finishing the puzzle, if you are looking to finish the collection.  My main issue with this puzzle is that hold is broken so it make completing it a PITA.  This is also the only puzzle as complex.

It's not that hard, once you figure out exactly what does what then it's far easier.

 

PROTIP:  Crank up your brightness if you can't see well enough.  I like my game really dark with SweetFX and the first time I spent nearly an hour running in circles trying to figure out the last pillar, because I couldn't see that the switch opened the gate on the other side of the room.

 

Hold Position isn't broken, but it's badly implemented.  Basically it disables when you switch party members, so what I did was spam the Hold hotkey immediately after switching between party members to force them to hold.  It works perfectly and I have done this puzzle 3 times now.

 

 

Bioware:  Please make Hold Position a toggle!
