I believe it would make the masseffect 1,2, and 3.........more interesting at least for me it would.

Like in ME1? You want to bring back the inventory and loot/trading system? I've missed these too. Essential elements of what made exploration (of seemingly repetitive spaces) so engrossing in the first game for me. I even miss the loot crate minigames.
After a lengthy quest your pockets are bulging with goodies and you can't wait to get back to the citadel and cash in so that you can kit everybody out with the latest gear... feels way more rewarding than a +10000 credits popup.

I actually like that in ME2 and ME3 companion characters have their personalities reflected in individualized armor that is unique to them. In concept at least I thought that was step up from ME1 where everyone could look identical.
Having said that, I thought ME1 did a much better job of giving everyone armor that looked practical. Everyone was fully protected and everyone had an optional helmet. In later games the series ventured sometimes too far into rule of cool territory by having characters wear armor or outfits that were supposed to make them look bad@ss or sexy, but which seemed to offer little to no protection against enemy fire or hostile enviroments.
On that note I'm hoping ME:Next finds a sweet spot between those two approaches. Give every companion character their own unique armor that reflects their personalities without having the armor look as if would no longer serve it's intended function.
The only exception I would add to all the above is that the individual touches should be much less pronounced with companion characters whose background is that of an active duty member of a military organization. Their armor and uniforms should closely resemble those of the rest of the organization they belong to. Save any individual touches for subtle details like a rank insignia on the 'sleeve' or collar of their armor, a unit patch for the outfit you recruited them from, their vocational code, or perhaps some sort of insignia for a military award. A Star of Terra recipient for example might have a star logo on his/her chest or arm for example. But otherwise military characters' appearance should reflect the uniformity of the organization they belong to.

Way too vague so here is my random opinion.
I would love to see a separation of stats from the armor/clothing. So that we can customize our look without having to stick to parts that our build needs.

100% agree with this.

But OP's saying it would've made ME1, 2 and 3 more interesting, so presumably what they're talking about isn't comparing ME1's system to 2 or 3's, but something that was absent from the entire series so far.
I have no idea what it is.
...Exchanging outifts between squaddies maybe? I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with seeing Zaeed in Miranda's outfit. Miranda in Jack's ME2 outfit, however...

While more flexibility in choice of armour and off-duty clothing would be nice, its not really that big of an issue.
