Excited about Lars Mikkelsen's inclusion as the Russian President -- It's quite awesome to see him being in a show as big as this. A much stronger actor than that of his brother Mads, though not quite as handsome-mansome ![]()

Just watched the first episode at the gym. I've gotta be careful not to binge the rest of it now, because that show makes an hour on the elliptical go by a whole lot faster.
I like where we're going so far. Some of my burning questions have been answered, and I like Claire's direction. Because it's all about Claire.

Does anyone else get an LBJ vibe off of F.U. (And by the way, mad props to the original show for using those particular initials)?
In the British version, people actually refer to Urquhart as "F.U." for short, including at least once to his face.

I think Season 3 ended a lot worse than it started
the focus on the Claire/Frank relationship was never my favorite part, I'd much rather see him sparring with the not!Putin and Congress than the sequences with Claire which forever is just "So let's talk about __" then "not right now" x5 episodes
They really should focus on the politics and wrangling, not those two.

I also endorse FakePutin as being frickin awesome.
I'm only 4 episodes in right now. It's shocking. I've been really good about using it as motivation to get my fat ass to the gym. I'm only allowed to watch it while I'm working out. So I'll have to see if I'm still in love with it at the end of the season, but I've been really enjoying the focus on Frank and Claire's relationship. It's my favorite part of the show. They seem to get stronger in the face of adversity when they could so easily tear each other down. Anyway, I've still got a lot of the show to go, so I'll refrain from commenting further only to see my speculation proven completely wrong in the next episode.

Loving the focus on Claire and her role in the world and the struggles he faces, along with her relationship with Frank. The duo is especially one motivating factor for why I enjoy this show, and seeing them both in their highs and lows is both entertaining and a welcome factor to explore.
So far the show has been as deliciously dramatic as I've known it for, and despite a few flaws, I have been having a good time. Gonna give full review once I've finished it completely.

If nothing else, season 3 has confirmed that Robin Wright is still amazing and totally hot.

I really did not like Claire this season :/
Some of her arguments with Frank were a bit weak, especially the last one of the season before she splits. She has that odd breakdown and tries to get Frank to have violent sex with her (I thought that whole sequence was weird and unnecessary), then gets mad and leaves after Frank accurately points out the flaws in her points and makes a good case that he really did more or less give her the power she wielded.

in addition to that, there's the moping and whining about a position she was not qualified for, and honestly I think not!Putin did make the right call there, she needed to go.
