“I am Tevinter first and a servant of the Minrathous Circle second, those are the things that matter.”
She's the perfect elf
I do admit to being a bit smitten with her. Her dedication and everything, considering the nature of the land she lives in. Cutthroat ladies always get to me.

I enjoyed cutting her throat.
Except her bow is crappy for higher levels so basically useless by the time you get it.
You know, DA:I really tears apart any respect one might've had for the Dalish in previous games.
They've been exposed as a huge joke, people who take pride and speak with certainty of something they haven't the slightest clue about.
Don't get me wrong, I just find it sad that the most positive thing you can say in their favor anymore is "A+ for trying".
DAI confirms a lot of their traditional beliefs, and since Sarel and Paivel in DAO we've heard Dalish elves saying they know they don't know much about their own history. I think it's mostly players who weren't paying attention to the Dalish before DAI that think this.
I think this game made me more pro-dalish (or perhaps less anti) because they seem more interesting now. And they're no wronger than I'd expected them to be.
I want to see more of them now, whereas before they were kind of dull.
(Still prefer the City Elves, though)
We will most likely wont see the Dalish in DA4 if its in Tevinter. Though Antiva have Dalish dont know about Anderfels and Nevarra.

But it's like nope, they got everything wrong. I think we certainly can take Fen'harel's word for it
Yeah, but before you could imagine "They don't know everything, but they must've managed to preserve some of their original culture".

Fen'Harel doesn't say they got everything wrong, he says they remember fragments of fragments. Which just means they don't know the fully story.

Could be Rivain. It's a nice place where you can easily justify pretty much any faction getting involved, while still having it's own things going on.
Tevinter, Qunari, Antivans, Dalish, Southern Chantry
At the old bioware forums David Gaider said there is a Dalish settlment in Rivian, but Merill said in DA2 that they didin't arrive there yet.
And they are more aggressive.
There are Dalish in the Free Marches, so I think there must be some in Nevarra and the Anderfells as well. I'd also be surprised if there weren't a number of clans in the Arlathan forest.
The Anderfels, are a big blightland from what I understand, the villagers live there in fear and are always cautios, they are preapared for a fight all the time. What could a Dalish clan do in a blightland? Maybe the Dalish are in the northen jungles after the Anderfels, though I doubt it since it is not fully known then.
I doubt there are Dalish in Arlathan forest, it is mentioned in DAI I think that they don't go to Tevinter for obvius reasons, oh it is mentioned by Dorian. He say there are no Dalish in the Tevinter Imperium. Though (MAJOR GAME SPOILERS BEWARE!):
And I think I agree with you that there are Dalish in Nevarra. Nevarra dont like Tevinter, dont use slaves and etc. I cant see why they wont be there.
And they are more aggressive.
In Antiva, Zevran says that the Dalish there are more agressive than the ones in Fereldan.

It's good, they need to be.

We should meet more unique Dalish characters, just like Dorian is unique among Tevinter mages.
Most of them sound like drones, no different from the Qunari. Our culture, our gods, the shemlen, elves this and elves that, blah blah blah.
I suppose Merril was an example of how one might try to stray from that, though I hate her and really don't think she's as sweet as she seems at first.
How dare people actually represent their culture? The Dalish have only been very lightly represented in the games at all until DAI.
Well, Merrill said they hadn't reached Llomerryn, which is where Mr Gaider said there was a settlement, but I'm not aware of any reason to think they wouldn't visit mainland Rivain
I don't recall this dialogue of Merrill's, but she could just be mistaken.

She's talking to Isabela who seems familiar enough with the place that she'd know if there was a Dalish settlement
That's a major retcon, then.
Bleh. Dalish lore is a mess.
I hope we get to explore Arlathan Forest. I wonder if it has the mystic about it that the Brecillian Forest had or if Tevinter has fully explored it and created wildlife trails with scenic stopover ![]()
. DA lore and even BioWare lore in general isThat's a major retcon, then.

I always found that mildly racist attitude of the elves annoying.
Quick children, Stone children, Bleh.
Like you need to be emaciated beggar with pointy ears to be a adult.
Eh, I don't mind the Dwarven title, as the Dwarves literally believe they are borne from the Stone and return to her. Ergo, they believe they are her children.
