I think Zathrian makes a comment to Sten about the Qunari in DAO. Sten makes a comment about how the Dalish should stand and fight, and he replies that the Qunari just like fighting and subjugating everything. I think that was it. Or maybe it was about how the Dalish would be forced to assimilate if they were in Qunari lands?
It's been far too long since I took Sten with me in DAO!

How could a mirror that did not allow the magisters to see their own reflection and admire themselves possibly be useful or interesting to them? There also wasn't enough blood involved so that would be one boring party. Better to think something that mundane must be used for chatting than anything as flashy as travel.

Your explanation as to why Magisters were not interested in Eluvians brought a smile on my face

then how the Magisters of old were not able to find out what the eluvians did, like Patchwork said. Rather fishy, if you ask me.

The pass code for the gem Briala uses is "Fen'Harel enaste." It's speculated by some of us including myself that Felassan, her mentor, could have been working with Solas after he woke up. And Mythal obviously is also working to preserve the eluvians, which is how Morrigan knows how to use them.

To be honest, reducing the Imperium to simply being a nation where slavery is their chief concern was always a rather.... bland thing to do, writing wise.

 imagine that Abelas and his fellow sentinals will have a part to play in future games.   That there was an ancient group still surviving did not come as a complete surprise since the World of Thedas had hinted that there were groups of elves that fled to the furthest corners of Thedas to escape Tevinter, and thus it was likely that they remained closer to what once was.    It would appear that ancient elves were bald, something to watch out for in the future.

 

It was also hinted at in Arl Foreshadow's notes.

Hmm. And one peak in The Masked Empire later, the entire theory I just came up with falls apart.

So, I came up with the idea that Felassan and Solas may in fact be one and the same character. That would mean that at the end of The Masked Empire, Felassan would meet Coryphy-spit in the Fade - not physically, mind you - and give him the Orb.

 

Both were Mages, both were very old, and rather enigmatic Elves. It would fit.

 

And then I took a look in The Masked Empire, and reminded myself that Felassan dies.

Unless he really IS Solas, and being Fen'Harel makes him immortal of sorts.

 

 

The other, more probable theory is the old "It was Solas behind him" - but why would he then mention that "she did not give me the passphrase"? Solas would no doubt knew the passphrase, considering it's his own blessing.

 

Alternative is Morrigan, who would no doubt wish to know the passphrase for the Eluvians. But even her would probably not remain quiet.

 

In the end, the character may have been Corypheus after all. You can reach the Fade physically through Eluvians. In this case, Felassan wouldn't even need to be one and the same with Solas.

 

Then Felassan's last line: "It would anger you, but she reminds me of..." who? "You"? Why would Briala remind him of Corypheus, right.

And why would Solas kill Felassan, if it was really him?

 

Argh! Questions, everywhere, but no answers!

She sounded EXACTLY like Merrill. So, yup. Merrill has a natural Welsh accent. Sounds nothing like English.
