I think Zathrian makes a comment to Sten about the Qunari in DAO. Sten makes a comment about how the Dalish should stand and fight, and he replies that the Qunari just like fighting and subjugating everything. I think that was it. Or maybe it was about how the Dalish would be forced to assimilate if they were in Qunari lands?
It's been far too long since I took Sten with me in DAO!

Sten talks with Sarel at 0:35.

Sarel: Oh, I am certain we played a part in our downfall. We believed that the shemlen would not revoke their prophet's gift so lightly. We were wrong. They took our lands, forcing us to abandon our gods and live as beggars in shemlen cities.
Sten: You should have fought. You should have fought to the last of you. Better that than to submit.
Sarel: Oh? Is it not the Qunari way to force others to submit? Surely that would not be your advice to my people, were they attacked by the mighty Qunari.
Sten: That would be different. The qunari would improve your people. The humans have improved nothing.
Sarel: Perhaps. Even so, many of us did fight. We fought... and we lost.

How could a mirror that did not allow the magisters to see their own reflection and admire themselves possibly be useful or interesting to them? There also wasn't enough blood involved so that would be one boring party. Better to think something that mundane must be used for chatting than anything as flashy as travel.

Your explanation as to why Magisters were not interested in Eluvians brought a smile on my face :D

Well if this little freedom fighter can get the eluvian network working

Spoiler
then how the Magisters of old were not able to find out what the eluvians did, like Patchwork said. Rather fishy, if you ask me.

She didn't do it alone, she was the beneficiary of ancient elves and probably a couple of elven gods working to restore the old technology.

Good, the Imperium needs more slaves.

*leans back and takes a sip of wine*

To be honest, reducing the Imperium to simply being a nation where slavery is their chief concern was always a rather.... bland thing to do, writing wise.

imagine that Abelas and his fellow sentinals will have a part to play in future games.   That there was an ancient group still surviving did not come as a complete surprise since the World of Thedas had hinted that there were groups of elves that fled to the furthest corners of Thedas to escape Tevinter, and thus it was likely that they remained closer to what once was.    It would appear that ancient elves were bald, something to watch out for in the future.

It was also hinted at in Arl Foreshadow's notes.

Spoiler

You mean Fen'Harel Enansal.

Also, you've given me an idea just now... What if... OH GOD. OH CREATORS.

Hmm. And one peak in The Masked Empire later, the entire theory I just came up with falls apart.

Unless... Bah. I'll share, anyway.

I don't think so, welsh and English can sound quite similar I guess.

(I am going to get stabbed for that)

Isn't Eve Myles (Merrill) Welsh?

I think that was also her natural accent, aye?

If so, then HOLY HECK I'M NOT EVEN A NATIVE SPEAKER.

I watched some stuff with her, mind you, it was a behind the scenes.

She sounded EXACTLY like Merrill. So, yup. Merrill has a natural Welsh accent. Sounds nothing like English.

Yes but what I meant is that in DAI half of them sound like English pepole, and the other one well Welsh and Irish.

Hmm. I can't remember hearing English elves in the game. Do you have good pointers?

I mean, the only non-welsh accent on a major elven character I can remember right now is Briala, who has an Orlesian accent - makes sense, since she was both in Orlesian nobility circle (or, well, servant, but you get me, aye?)

That Elf that seeks the Golden Halla, and the Elf woman that want to get supplies-wow, not half only 2... Err I will just say my Quizzy talks his pepole's accent only in his clan cause, ya know, used to it lol
