They do. But they don't have anyone better, so she'll have to do.

Seeing as her only success aside from getting her people killed is existing at the magnanimity of the Inquisitor, I think I'd take my chances with nondescript background elf character.

Bang up job so far though.

Better than Celene or Gaspard alone, by far.

''For the elves'' without doubt , for the rest, debatable.

Perhaps an Elven Inquisitor? Or an Inquisitor who really cares about the Elves?

For the elves: Dalish Inquistor with Briala effective;y ruling.

In general: Either Gaspard with peace talks or Celene/Briala.

I wonder about Gaspard alone with an Elven Inquisitor, if only because (Jaws of Hakkon Spoilers)

Spoiler

Could an Elven Inquisitor become friends with Gaspard enough to get him to improve the lives of Elves?

Meh. I disagree about Celene. She's done more for the elves than Briala ever did. Hell, she even got to the University to accept Elven students.

Well, that's why you reunite Celene and Briala.

If Gaspard could actually be made to view it beyond merely a pet project being foisted upon him perhaps.

It would likely be difficult merely because he doesn't view at as a pressing issue for the Empire if a issue at all.

Give viable reasons that go beyond morality and he might bite but...otherwise he's going to operate on the model of the Orlesian heyday.

He isn't wrong to do so.

This type of manipulation of government is uniform to failure, in my opinion, in a short time the nobles will find very convenient elves rising and so they will put an end to Briala.

Maybe she'll just need to have more power and influence than her enemies.

And well, Briala is a spymaster. It would be hard to catch her off guard.

I do not doubt.

But what is doubtful is how effective she can be with this power and how vulnerable she will be. More powerful, more enemies she will have. Gaspard does not seem inclined to get stuck to her.

She massacred elves en masse because it was politically convenient. I mean, she's not a racist and generally progressive when it suits her but still.

Point. At this point, I ought to go to bed, cause I don't even know half the hell of what I'm saying currently.

Night, y'all

Well, that's why you reunite Celene and Briala.

The thought of reuiniting them after what Celene did to her makes me throw up in my mouth. Set Briala up as puppetmaster, by all means. Don't try to fix them back up as a cuddly pair. That's just gross.

Here I thought this was the elven support thread.

I'm surprised the meaning of humans looking up to an elven woman can be underappreciated here of all places.

The elf haters are here, too. Bored, no doubt.

I hate the fact that the book set that scenario up at all too much to care about many of its particulars. In any case, Briala controlling Gaspard just doesn't seem stable at all to me.

On the other hand she controls the eluvians, has an effective spy network and is in an alliance with the Inquisition. The brewing discontent seems to mostly be amongst some of the Orlesian nobility who are annoyed by the fact that Gaspard has capitulated to Briala's demands, which makes me believe that if there is a rebellion, Gaspard would be as much of a target as Briala and thus would be forced to remain on her side.

I also don't see what is stopping Gaspard from just simply having her done in

Hmm lets think, then another war will start? The nobles wont support him, and she is not "powerless" if you know what I mean .

He could just get his guards to lock her up as soon as the inquisitor leaves the building. The nobles wont be able to do much because Celene is already dead at this stage.

So, decided to make a Dalish male mage. All in all, turned out quite well. Except for 2 things;

- The lip options on the Male side aren't as nice. Unless they just need drastically tweaking in the customization sections.

- I forgot to turn down all the settings in the makeup section. Internal rage is building due to this.

I might leave this guy at the start, and wait until the Black Emporium is out. Then I can progress him knowing I'll be able to change it later. But for now, a Dalish mage! Looking forward to seeing all the unique dialogue options.

I think the most fundamental issue for Briala is that Gaspard is old and could die soon, leaving her pretty much nowhere. Celene could be expected to last longer, but she could still die easily enough.

I'd say she needs to focus on building up a power base in the Dales that might survive her losing control over the throne.

Well, think as one of the nobles who are racist, you will support Briala or Gaspard? and even if Briala discover, she will do what? murder them all? That would be very convenient.

I agree with you, Briala will not be able to maintain this charade for long. He may not have support of the nobles, but I find it easier to get it than Briala.
