The DA games have taught me that dirty lowly elves belong in the kitchen making their lord a sandwitch.
Hey, they have job. Never say the nobility isn't an equal opportunity exploit......err.....employer.
Nothing I say!
Nothing!
Are you a little upset, Warder?
I mean, if you like, we could always discuss the aesthetics of Orlesian armor instead.

Are you a little upset, Warder?
And after a month long hiatus I find yet another BSN elven support thread... talking about Orlesian fashion, and locks.
My, the quality of conversation around these parts has improved lately. And not just by my absence, either.

Guess the pro-Dalish are in uthenera since there's no one feeling harassed.
I am currently playing a female Dalish Elf archer rogue with the default name (I am unimaginative and cannot make names up). I like the idea and it really fits the background of being sent to spy on the Conclave. Does not help that I headcanon that she never really fit in with her own clan, so that when she was asked, she accepted immediately.

I do not know, really. She just never really found herself among her clan that much. Plus it's hard to fit in when you wanted to 'do the deed' with your keeper who happened to be the same gender as you.
She usually camped by herself outside of the rest of the clan, and often spent most of her time hunting rather than hanging out with the clan members. She moved around with them, but never really found herself as a central part of the clan.

Ah, interesting.
My human-hating Tabris (my favorite Warden) was a bit of an outcast in the alienage mostly due to the fear that anyone associated with him when he got arrested for seriously injuring/killing someone (he's basically an angrier version of Fenris) would be punished with him. Not to mention he had suggested several times (rather vocally) that they should all leave Denerim and find the Dalish. Of course, the events in DA:O didn't do anything to help matters (pre-Landsmeet).
As for my 2nd f!Lavellan (5th Inquisitor) who I headcanon ending up with my human-hating Tabris post-DA:I, she generally preferred being alone in the forests, though she did communicate with others in the clan. Granted, being apprentice to the Keeper meant that she wasn't always around many other clan members, so there's that...
Really, I'd imagine that the events in DA:I might've made some Dalish view her as a traitor (seriously, it annoys the hell out of me that the Inquisition is automatically a Chantry-driven force (not a Chantry-guided force, but still). Still, I'd think that their respective notoriety would've made them both rather isolated from their peers. Granted, that could be applied to all Wardens and Inquisitors, but I'd think elven PCs would be the hardest hit, imo.
Ah, interesting.

I actually head-cannon my Cullen and Blackwall romancers as not fitting in Pol-style, mostly because they are atheists and also think that the dalish need to move forward and establish a new...culture with what they have. But they still cared for the clan, which is like family to them.

Really? I think she looks kind of like a guy.

I agree.
Not saying it's a bad thing, however. Might be a reason she does not fit in with her clan (does not look like them).
In the Qun, people are assigned their jobs when they are young.
But I wonder, are Dalish elves different in this aspect? Do they get to choose in what way they'd like to contribute?
Like "You know, hunting isn't my thing. Mixing herbs for medicine/ teaching the children about our history is more like my calling".
I don't see why not, their job could change due to circumstances too e.g. injury or pregnancy, but like most things dalish it might vary from clan to clan.
Mages are obviously more limited when they're younger, training with the Keeper would have to be mandatory.

Someone did a very good rendition of the Dalish lullaby you can find in WoT Volume 2.

She looks as much like a guy as Aveline or Cassandra, imo.
