So....my system just went belly up deleting everything on it. When I got it working again found out everything is gone T-T all my save-files for my mass effect playthrough lost everything for my Soldier playthrough. The choices....all gone
Now I have to restart the series...which class makes sense for a paragon playthrough aside the Soldier?
My choices I'm thinking of
Sentinel
Since my bonus talent in ME1 is Assault Rilfe (the only bonus talent I have...) I was thinking of going out as a Assault Sentinel. Good defense is a good offense. If my bonus talent was a shotgun then this would be pretty cool for ME2 with Tech Armor and Shotgun.
Vanguard
Not really using the Assault Rilfe as a Vanguard but after ME1 , a nice change of gameplay would be kinda nice for ME2/ME3 rushing into battle with a shotgun and a nice punch.
Please note I still haven't finished ME3 I was finally playing it with my Paragon Soldier...Reason why I'm still going paragon is cause I'm never really been a renegade.
Which class makes sense for Paragon?

I would say Sentinel, it's the closest class to a Medic: a specialization that I've always thought of to be more empathetic and humanistic.

Have you tried Sentinel with a Assault Rilfe in ME? it's better if he uses a shotgun right? due to his high defenses...

I only played as a sniper Sentinel so I can't really say. I always thought of the Sentinel as the guy or gal who hangs back and supports the rest of the team.

I lean toward Sentinel as being the Paragon class, but I think that's mostly because Kaidan is one, and I guess because it's more of a support class.
I'd say Vanguard for Renegade, because it seems like the angry biotic class, with all the charging and slamming people's asses with a nova punch.

Reason why I'm asking this is the only Bonus Talent I have unlocked in ME is Assault Rilfe. I kinda want to make it canon in ME2/ME3 by which weapon he picks , Like he uses an Assault Rilfe in ME , Picks up the Assault Rilfe again in ME2 and still has the Assault Rilfe in ME3.

If that's true then the Assault Rilfe can still be a support weapon...man this is annoying kinda good though I expect people to say Shotgun for the Sentinel is better. That would cause me to try to grind kills as a Vanguard to unlock the shotgun....

True enough, the Assault Rifle is a a great mid range weapon and even long range weapon if you know what you're doing.
It ultimately comes down to preference, I like reaching out and nailing elite baddies with one shot while my teammates are wrecking normal mooks with shotguns.

Is this thread about Mass Effect? High defenses? Have you ever played a Sentinel in ME1? The Sentinel gets light armor and barrier. I would not call that "high defenses." Only the Engineer gets less.
"Team mates are wrecking normal mooks with shotguns?"
You're talking about an alternate universe, right?

I'd say the Sentinel. You'll be somewhat squishy in ME1 but you get much tougher in ME2 and ME3 with the addition of Tech Armor. Having both Overload and Warp helps to deal with every protection layer out there. Sentinels also have more options to boost the squad in ME3

Sentinel, Adapt, and Engineer are what I'd say are the 'paragon' classes. Sentinel especially, given that it is more of a jack-of-all-stats class designed to give bonuses to squadmates. As a Soldier player though, I'm used to more or less utterly tanking everything on my own.
Vanguard and Infiltrator are the more 'renegade' classes.
Soldier can go either way. I see it as a renegade class, but I can see how many would view it as a paragon class.

Mass Effect 1, my AR is Master Spectre Gear X, with Heat Sink X, Combat Optics X, and Inferno Round X.
It's basically a rapid fire sniper rifle, that also happens to kill anything and everything at close-in and mid range.

God....why did my system have to go belly up D: All I want to do is play ME3 with my imported character...
So you support Assasult Rilfe Sentinel? it's what I'm leaning on otherwise I'll have to grind things out as Vanguard till I unlock Shotgun.

So if you play a class that folks suggest would best fit a paragon, and you end up not liking it, will you say the same thing to them?

Play whatever you think is fun. Why should paragon or renegade have anything to do with fighting style? Biotics are fun in so a lot of my characters are adepts or vanguards.

There's no such thing as a paragon class, though there's classes which come across as more humanistic, Sentinel would fall into that territory I guess.

omg...can I just get more people like God , Vazgen and Kaiser Shep. They knew what I was talking about when I said more of a Paragon class.
these "just pick what you find fun" is useless to me when I'm going for more of a RP stand-point.

I'd recommend it if it's possible.
Come ME2, you should be alright with SMG's though.

Yeah cause of the Kasumi's DLC gives the best SMG
alright then Assault Rifle it is , saves me time otherwise grinding for that shotgun woulda been a pain.

In ME2 different guns get different multipliers against protection layers.
Only Locust has a damage multiplier against armor but it also has smaller multiplier against shields and barriers - x1.25
Assault rifles usually feature the same multipliers as Locust with a notable exception - Mattock, which gets x1.3 multiplier against armor
All heavy pistols have the same x1.5 multiplier against armor.
Armor usually takes the longest to strip away, that's why I suggest using Mattock in ME2. It is also available relatively early in ME3 (Grissom Academy).

So your also a support for the Assault Rilfe Sentinal? more then the Shotgun Sentinal? (ME1) I only have the Assault Rilfe unlocked it's just I wanna keep it canon for my character in all 3 games to keep using that weapon type. If I go with Assault Rilfe then in (ME2) I'll pick AR on the ship , and stick with AR in (ME3). If enough people make a good point on going with Shotgun's then in (ME1) I'll go with Shotgun and (ME2) I'll pick Shotgun on the ship and so on in (ME3).
